Jasmine Sampong (2022) | Pompton Lakes
Sampong was one of the leaders for a 16 win Pompton Lakes team. She was second on the team in scoring and first in free throws made. Sampong displayed her strength on multiple occasions. She was able to finish with contact and get to the free throw line at a high rate this season.
Nikki Zlotkowski (2022) | Clifton
It was a tough season for Clifton but they had a breakout player on the block in Zlotkowski. When she was on the floor, the offense was balanced. She provided a rebounding presence on both ends. She has great instincts and anticipation which helps her cause turnovers.
Lisa Star (2023) | Lakeland
Star was not a big time scoring presence in her first season but she was able to come in an give good minutes on the defensive end. Star averaged two blocks per game and was a strong rebounder. She has quick feet and strong hands on both ends. Star is a player that will be dangerous once she puts it all together.
Sofia Neary (2022) | Wayne Valley
Neary turne into a threat on both ends as a sophomore. She will continue to fine tune her game and become an impact player for Wayne Valley. Neary displayed quickness on the defensive end as she was able to get in the passing lane on many occasions. She also showed a soft touch around the rim which helped her be an effective scorer.
D’ani Morales (2022) | Passaic
Morales is another up-and-coming player to watch come the 2020-2021 season. She is a dark-horse candidate that can breakout and have a big year as a junior. Morales was a consistent contributor for Passaic as a sophomore and that will only increase as her role gets bigger.
