"Recruiting Roundup" will be released monthly to keep you informed on what’s going on for girls basketball in Arizona.
I hope everyone is staying safe and following guidelines issued by the state and federal government in regards to the current COVID 19 Pandemic. Basketball is starting to return ever and Prep Girls Hoops Arizona is ready to go.
<span style="font-size: 14pt"><em><strong>Latest status on getting back to playing</strong></em></span>
Arizona is wide open now for returning to basketball. The Governor of Arizona has released guidelines for youth sports. <a href="https://azgovernor.gov/sites/default/files/guidance_for_organized_youth_events.pdf">GUIDELINES</a> - Please read.
I have spoken to nearly all club coaches about their plans to return. Most programs will use 2-3 weeks in June to practice and get players back into game ready condition. They plan to enter tournaments starting in July.
The word on the street is that NCAA Viewing events will be scheduled for August and September therefore July tune up tournaments will be a necessity. For local tournaments in July, expect a good share of out of state teams and event promoters to travel to Phoenix. Other states are still closed for youth sports so Arizona becomes the place to be this July. Update: the NCCA dead period has been extended through July 31, 2020.
It is reported that some school summer leagues will start up in July. Some programs have started to hold light practices.

Player rankings will be updated in August (2020), November (2020), March (2021), June (2021). Rankings have not been updated for a while due the pandemic and my newness to this position. Prep Girls Hoops Arizona has the most comprehensive database of Arizona players and it is growing daily. We are currently performing player evaluations, attending team practices, watching tons of video and talking to numerous people in the know to make sure we are as thorough as possible.
Starting in June, we will begin to feature the top 2025 players by position. Prep Girls Hoops Arizona has scouted the 2025 class for a year now and our database extends to 120+ players for the class.
<em><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt">Team Profiles in June/July</span></strong></em>
