They have an old saying that I love, pressure will burst a pipe, and since I can't stand some of the old sayings, this is one of them that's actually true, so I caught some guards who did a good job applying pressure, here ya go

Hurd gave me my first live look at her, and all I can say is what I had been hearing is"I HURD THAT" yet more importantly, I SAW THAT for myself. She's a "long and athletic" guard that reads the floor and plays the passing lane, yet her"on the ball" pressure in the set also looked good. She saw the floor, took defenders off the dribble, and created her shot while being pressured, but her timing to block shots needs to be mentioned as well

Ridley was an eye-opener a few weeks ago at Prep Girls Hoops "The Shootout", see evaluation here, as she made my New Faces Tip Sheet yet as good as her defense was then, it was even better as she created havoc baseline to baseline to create turnovers. She also attacked the basket strongly and finished the same way after contact

Square just made my Stock Risers Tip Sheet, see evaluations here, yet going over my notes from Clash Of The Clubs, I omitted her diving on the floor for loose balls. Yes, does a good job applying pressure in the set as well as full-court, but that extra effort can change the momentum in a game, well, so can her "stop and pop" jumper

Bell, as in "ring my" was another player who made things happen not only with her defensive pressure across the board, but also her intensity stayed the same throughout the game. She was another player who dove on the floor for loose balls, yet her quickness attacking the basket and dropping the FLOATA was nice

Hankton falls into that #sizedontmatter group, and not only was she a headache for offensive players baseline to baseline, but she used her quick hands to pick pockets and come away with steals. She handled the ball under pressure and saw the floor

Ray left a lasting first impression last year, see evaluation here, and I knew she had a lot of tools to create problems on both ends. She's grown, on and off the court, yet her defensive pressure is even more effective as she's making the offensive player pick up their dribble. I also enjoyed her "picking pockets" using quick hands, and the first step is nice to attack the basket. On top of all that, seeing her finish after contact, with either hand, was another plus
