Eau Claire Memorial and Eau Claire North: Big Rivers Conference
1. Reanna Hutchinson | Eau Claire North | 5’10 PG | Sophomore
This season the sophomore led her team in scoring. While averaging 11.2 points per game she showed she is effective on both ends of the floor. She can push the ball in transition and finish strong in the lane. Hutchinson is a talented athlete with the ability to score over defenders with her height. She has great ball handling skills as well. On defense she does a great job using her arms to deflect passes. She averaged 3 steals per game.
2. Lily Cayley Lily Cayley 5'8" | CG Eau Claire Memorial | 2023 State WI | Eau Claire Memorial | 5’8 G | Freshman
The freshman finished third in scoring this season behind the team’s two senior leaders. She quickly learned her role on this team and became a huge asset in her own way. Cayley was patient with her shot this season, often finding the open player before attempting her own basket. She will certainly be the go-to scorer for her team next season. She averaged 7.6 points per game during her first year at Eau Claire Memorial. In a game against Tomah, she scored a season-high 13 points.
3. Evie Dreger | Eau Claire North | 5’8 CG | Junior
The second leading scorer on her Eau Claire North team, Dreger developed into a great all- around player. She added some quickness to her game and is stronger getting to the rim. She finishes with a smooth stroke to her shot as well. Dreger averaged 8.2 points per game and could easily take over a game offensively any given night. She also adds rebounds for her team with 6.6 per game.
4. Anna Hoitomt | Eau Claire Memorial | 5’11 G | Junior
A long forward with great inside-out abilities. Hoitomt does a great job of running the floor and playing intensely on both ends. She is super athletic and dominates the game with her versatility. She will be another player to watch out for next season as she improves her mid-range shot and starts knocking down jumpers over small defenders. This season she finished with 5.8 points per game. In a game against Holmen she finished with 11 points.
5. Brya Smith | Eau Claire North | 5’10 PF | Freshman
A serious watch-list candidate, Smith has such a high ceiling to her game. She’s long and strong. She does not shy away from contact and knows how to use her body inside to get her shot off. Not only is she dynamic inside, she has the ability to step outside and knock down the three point shot. She averaged 5.5 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. In a game against Onalaska she dropped a season-high 13 points.
6. Averie Varsho | Altoona | 5’6 G | Junior
A scrappy player for her team, Varsho proved this season she is a triple threat. She is an impact player on both ends and can contribute in so many ways. Offensively she is lightning quick with great footwork and handles with the ball. On defense she’s a workhorse, always out working her opponent. She’s an efficient passer as well. She sets the tone of the offense for her team and is a vocal leader. This season she averaged 9 points per game. In a game against Ellsworth, Varsho scored a season-high 33 points.
7. Nadia Horn | Eau Claire North | 5’7 PG | Junior
The junior is a floor leader for her squad. She plays with patience and poise. She has great ball handles and does well creating space between herself and the defender. This season showed her passing skills and on-court vision for finding her teammates open. Horn averaged 6 points per game for her team. In a game against Chippewa Falls, Horn finished with a season-high 14 points.
8. Makenna Rohrschieb | Regis | 5’8 F | Sophomore
A solid athlete who can play multiple positions on the floor. She’s quick on her feet but has strength in her legs to compete in the lane. She has a great turn-around jumper and ability to keep the ball high on put back rebounds. She is both an offensive and defensive rebounding threat and could push the ball in transition if needed. This season she finished averaging 13 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game.
9. Adrienne Morning | Regis | 5’9 F | Junior
Another solid forward for Regis, Morning does a great job on defense. She has impressive footwork and doesn’t shy away from contact against taller athletes. She gets up and down the floor well. She uses a great sit and spin move in the lane to create space to get open. She knows her role on the floor and will certainly be a leader for her team next season. She averaged 8.8 points per game. In a game against Cadott, she scored a season-high 21 points.
10. Tessa Hazelton | Eau Claire Memorial | 5’9 F | Junior
Hazelton is a beast on the boards. She uses her body well inside to create contact and secure rebounds. A role player for Memorial, Hazelton did a great job making her teammates better this season. She has great post defense and confidence guarding taller forwards. This season she averaged 4 points per game for her team.
