Aaliyah Smith Aaliyah Smith 5'5" | PG La Follette | 2022 State #19 Nation WI | 5’5 PG | Madison La Follette | Flight Elite
A pure scorer, Smith knows how to attack the basket. She doesn’t shy away from contact and finishes with so many flashy moves in the lane. She has quick and impressive handles. She uses those to create a shot for herself beyond the three point line or by flying past a defender to the rim. A quick cross over pull up is her go-to shot from beyond the arc. During her freshman campaign at Verona high school, Smith averaged 20 points per game. Smith is a tremendous passer with great court vision. Oftentimes finding her teammates with a no-look pass or a long bounce pass in transition. Smith is currently ranked as the number one player in her class by Prep Hoops and holds multiple major division 1 offers.
Lily Krahn Lily Krahn 5'10" | CG Prairie Du Chien | 2022 State WI | 5’9 CG | Madison La Follette
A scrappy guard with multiple ways to score the basketball. Prewitt is determined and versatile on the court, making her super hard to defend. She’s scrappy with a bag full of moves in the lane. During her freshman season as Madison La Follette, Prewitt impacted the game with 14.3 points per game, 5.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 3.2 steals per game. She thrives on offense with her ability to knock down the mid range shot and finish with contact in the lane. Prewitt is a standout defender as well. She has quick footwork and is effective guarding multiple positions. She’s super athletic and sees a lot of minutes due to her impact on both ends.
McKenna Monogue | 6’1 PF | Middleton
A powerful forward who is going to play a huge role during her junior and senior seasons. Last season she played alongside one of the state’s top forwards in Sitori Tanin Sitori Tanin 6'2" | PF Middelton | 2020 State WI . The two joined forces and worked well together while also using each other for breaks on offense. Monogue has a great combination of size and skill. She can handle the ball on the perimeter and is confident far beyond the arc. She is most effective off the pass but will also gather herself with a dribble before shooting from deep. She made 37 three point baskets this season. Monogue also does well with points in transition and with her strong drop step on the block. The sophomore averaged 7.4 points per game for Middleton. In a win against Madison East, Monogue scored a season-high 22 points.
Mahra Wieman | 5’10 G | Reedsburg
Wieman led her team in scoring this season. She’s extremely athletic with a great feel for the game. She attacks the basket from the perimeter and uses her length to score over smaller defenders. She has a rare combination of size and skill that makes her incredibly difficult to defend. She developed her mid range jumper this season and has confidence using a floater in the lane. She is super quick in transition and sees a lot of points off of her baskets on the break. The sophomore standout averaged 20 points per game for Reedsburg. She’s been confident beyond the arc as well, making 35 perimeter baskets this season. She impacts the game every time she’s on the court and doesn’t shy away from contact in the lane. In a game against Fort Atkinson, Wieman scored a season-high 32 points in the win. She earned First Team Badger North this season.
Ava Loftus | 5’7 G | Stoughton
Loftus is a unique player who is super fun to watch. Each time I’ve watched her this season it seemed like she added a new move to her bag. She’s crafty on offense and has the ability to score with ease. She creates the game for herself, using her impressive handles and quick release to get off a great shot. She plays with a smooth tempo and moves well without the ball. This season she led her team in scoring with 11.1 points per game. Loftus is a perimeter threat for Stoughton- she finds many ways to get her shot off. This season she made 33 three point baskets and didn’t shy away from impacting the game with her range. Loftus does a great job on defense as well. She’s quick with good footwork and I’d look for Loftus to become a key defender for her team in the years to come.
