Anisha Able (2022) | Barringer
Able finished as one of the top bigs in the state because of her prowess on both ends. She averaged 14.5 points and 18.3 rebounds per game. She was near the top of the state in rebounds and blocks, where she had 6.3 per contest. Able was a double-double machine this season and that will continue as she works her way up through Barringer.
Kayrin Garcia (2021) | Newark East Side
Newark East Side has been a strong program for many years now. Garcia will continue the excellence of the bigs down low. She led the team in rebounds and blocks. She has great instincts when a shot is in the air and knows where it will come off.
Sidney Williams (2021) | University
Williams was apart of an extremely talented University team. They finished 24-2 led by Tara Johnson Tara Johnson 5'9" | SG University | 2021 State NJ and Williams, who acted as the defensive anchor. She averaged over two steals and two blocks per game. Williams is a presence on the court. She is a dominant player on both sides that can control the tempo.
Tylera McBride (2021) | Weequahic
McBride was a forward with a smooth shot from outside. She occasionally crept out towards three-point land knocking down 14 but did most of her work on the inside. She had a soft touch around the rim and could score with her back to the basket or off put backs.
Alma Abubakari (2023) | North Star
North Star has their next star in the post in Abubakari. She was one of North Star’s leading scorers with 13 points per game and she did it with great efficiency. Abubakari was able to put herself in position to take and make a lot of high percentage shots. Her game is going to develop and grow over the years which will allow her to turn into an even bigger prospect.
Kayla Johnson (2021) | Arts
Arts made a run in the state tournament as a No. 15 seed. They were able to take down some high quality opponents and Johnson was a big part of it. She kept the offense balanced allowing to play a nice brand of in-and-out basketball.
