Next up in my Northern (and Central) Illinois Prospect Highlight series is Post Players who excel on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. Players across the rising Sophomore thru Senior classes will be highlighted in this 3-part series, so lets get into it!
2022 [player_tooltip player_id="124859" first="Audrey" last="Hinrichs"], 6’1” Forward, Fenwick
Hinrichs is a strong and skilled Forward who can stretch the floor a bit with her ability to handle and shoot the ball. In the post, she can use her strength to create space or a variety of creative post moves to get clean looks at the rim. Audrey has excellent touch, both at the rim and in her jump shot, and can push the ball in transition with her confidence and ball-handling skills.
2022 [player_tooltip player_id="124867" first="Elise" last="Heneghan"], 6’0” Forward, Fenwick
Like Hinrichs, Heneghan also offers a wide variety of skills with her ability step outside the lane and make plays. She is a very high-IQ player who makes excellent decisions when she gets the ball in the post or out on the perimeter. Elise is a proven three-point shooter with good range and is a dominant rebounder on both ends of the floor.
2022 [player_tooltip player_id="124879" first="Amanda" last="Hansen"], 6’2” Forward, Fenwick
While Hinrichs and Heneghan contribute a solid all-around game for the Fenwick team, Hansen can be found in the low post protecting the rim and dominating the glass. She’s a tall and lengthy athlete who plays exceptional defense and makes it tough for opposing offenses to get clean looks in the lane. Amanda uses her quickness to get around most post defenders and has shown good touch in the paint.
2022 [player_tooltip player_id="78772" first="Katie" last="Krupa"], 6’2” Forward, Morton
A top player in the Class of 2022, Krupa is already known around the state as one of the most dominant and skilled post players. She is strong and savvy in the post, consistently creating good looks at the hoop. Katie can also step outside and play on the Wing due to her strong ball-handling, outside shooting abilities, and great court vision.
2022 [player_tooltip player_id="78771" first="Brianna" last="Wooldridge"], 6’2” Forward, Lincoln-Way West
Another Top 5 player in the Class of 2022, Wooldridge showed consistent high-level play during her Sophomore season. Her strength and physicality are tough to match up against in the paint, and her improved ball-handling has made her an even more dynamic player. Brianna has also continued to develop a good-looking shot that has made her a confident shooter from the free throw line and from three.
2023 [player_tooltip player_id="148157" first="Evyn" last="Carrier"], 6’4” Forward, Sycamore
Carrier is a tall and long Forward who showed a big improvement on the offensive end throughout her Freshmen season. She has a great awareness and understanding of where to be in the offense and does a good job of getting herself open so that her guards can get her the ball. Evyn finishes strong in the lane and has shown that she can stretch the floor with a nice-looking jumper.
2021 Rhema Ogele, 6’3” Forward, Saint Ignatius College Prep
Ogele is a strong and athletic interior post player who can dominate on both ends of the floor. Defensively, she is a terrific shot blocker and very tough to rebound against. On the offensive end, Rhema executes the pick-and-roll as well as anybody, showing textbook technique and control when the ball comes her way.
2021 [player_tooltip player_id="123574" first="Khaniah" last="Gardner"], 6’2” Forward, Simeon
Perhaps the best rebounder in the area, Gardner absolutely owns the glass on both ends of the floor. Her strength and physicality are nearly impossible to match up against, in addition to her athleticism and skill. Offensively, Khaniah creates space in the lane with strong post moves and finishes well through contact.
2021 [player_tooltip player_id="123410" first="Alyssa" last="Crenshaw"], 5’10” Forward, Dundee-Crown
Crenshaw is a terrific stretch Forward who can really stuff the stat sheet with her wide range of skills on offense. She’s a high-IQ player who gets in the correct spot often and uses her talent to make plays with the ball. 2021 Jazzlyn Linbo, 6’3” Forward, Grant
Linbo is a dynamic Forward who excels both in the paint and out on the perimeter with a variety of skills. She is strong in the post and moves well with the ball to drive past defenders and get good looks at the rim.
