A few players in the Southern California area have received some new offers over the past few months. Here’s a quick roundup of some of those players and some of their offers.
1. Kiki Iriafen – Havard-Westlake 2021
Iriafen made some headlines this week when she recently unveiled her top 5 schools. Included in that group were Baylor, Notre Dame, Stanford, UConn, and UCLA. Each of those schools are basketball powerhouses when it comes to the women’s game and each would benefit greatly from Iriafen’s talent.
Iriafen is one of the premier talents in the country with a very versatile skill-set. She can play like a traditional big, she has great footwork in the paint and she can punish smaller defenders on the block. She can shoot from the outside as well and she can even handle the ball a bit and make plays off the dribble. Defensively, she is a solid one-on-one defender and can anchor the paint. Very good rebounder. Poised for a big senior year.
2. Jayda Curry Jayda Curry 5'6" | PG Corona Centennial | 2021 State CA – Corona Centennial 2021
Curry already had a few mid-major Division 1 offers, but her recruitment really started to soar within the past month with the Pac 12. It started with Cal giving her an offer back in early May. Eventually Washington and Utah followed suit and she got her most recent Power 5 conference offer a few days ago with Arizona State.
Curry is one of the most talented scorers in Southern California. She has unlimited shooting range; she’s a threat to score from anywhere on the court. She can get hot from behind the arc in a hurry. She can also put the ball on the floor and attack the rim. She can finish with contact or get herself to the free-throw line. She can play both guard positions too, she can act as a facilitator and look for her teammates.
3. Alyssa Frescas Alyssa Frescas 5'8" | SG Mater Dei | 2021 State CA – Mater Dei 2021
Frescas has had a few Division 1 offers already, but she picked up a pair of new ones within the past month or so. She received an offer from the University of Texas-El Paso (UTEP) near the beginning of May, and then her most recent offer from UNLV came at the beginning of this month.
Frescas is another lights out shooter. She is a sniper from behind the three-point line with a very quick release. She can spot up well, she can stop and pop on the break, or she can create a shot off the dribble. She’s an overall solid leader on the court and she a pretty decent defensive player on the wings. Strong shooting guard with ability to handle the ball.
