<span style="font-weight: 400;">As players and teams hope to get back on the court this summer, Prep Girls Hoops takes a look at several players that have caught our eye in recent months after a big junior season.</span>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Among the prospects that stood out are Lakin guard [player_tooltip player_id="123544" first="Jaya" last="Esquibel"], Jessie Brummet of Riley County, [player_tooltip player_id="123530" first="Lexi" last="Cline"], of Cheney — all players that we will be on the lookout for during the 2020-21 season.</span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="160929" first="Jessie" last="Brummett"], 2021, Riley County </b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Brummett is a nice overall player who sets a tone defensively and looks to contest shots and forced turnovers. She stays with the ball and has a way of putting yourself in a position to rebound and score. She has a good shot and is confident with the ball in her hands and looks to get open and make plays wherever she can.</span>
<b>Ames Burton, 5’8, G/F, 2021, Riley County </b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">A player who sees time inside and shows a hard-nosed mentality. Burton plays good defense and can rebound and score second chance shots around the basket. She also gets up the floor well and gets back quickly on defense to protect the basket. In the backfield player who plays larger than her listed height.</span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="123530" first="Lexi" last="Cline"], 5’4, G, 2021, Cheney </b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">An active overall player who does the little things well. Cline is great at seeing the floor and looks to distribute the ball and find ways to get her teammates open. She is also a strong defensive player who is great at forcing turnovers and can also rebound as well. She scores when she has an opening but is more comfortable distributing the ball.</span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="123544" first="Jaya" last="Esquibel"], 5’3", G, 2021, Lakin </b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">An intelligent guard who makes smart moves defensively but is also a confidence score from inside and out. She stays in front of the ball and can force turnovers and finish around the basket. She makes Smart passes and is graded scoring in a variety of areas, especially from the 3-point line. Esquibel shows great leadership and a scorer’s mentality when she has the ball in her hands.</span>
<b>[player_tooltip player_id="160906" first="Sophie" last="Francis"], 5’2, G, 2021, Chaparral </b>
<span style="font-weight: 400;">Francis is a strong lead guard who Canton creates turnovers, facilitates and scores in a variety of ways. She is quick on her feet and looks to do a little bit of everything she can on the floor. She averaged 10.3 points, 2.6 assists, 3.2 rebounds and two steals per game last season showing a solid level of productivity across the boards. She doesn’t give up defensively and can sniff out plays and forced turnovers.</span>
