We continue our series on the top playmakers in the state by looking at the class of 2022. This is a unique blend of players who do not all fit into the mold of a traditional point guard one might imagine for top passers. Regardless of their varying skill sets and roles, these players have all shown the ability to pile up assists.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="106134" first="Jaya" last="McClure"], Christian Academy Louisville- </strong>When one of the top point guards in the state is tasked with leading one of its top offenses, plenty of assists are sure to result. McClure has established herself as the top true point guard in this class and has been lucky to have plenty of talent for whom to set shots up. It will be interesting to see if she can keep up her tremendous passing as she steps into the role of being a top player on the CAL team.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="106138" first="Cassidy" last="Rowe"], Shelby Valley- </strong>Despite being cursed with injury trouble, Rowe nonetheless remains one of the best-regarded players in the state. This is thanks in large part to her excellent vision and basketball IQ. Her passing skills, honed by consistently playing above her age, are one of the major reasons that Rowe has managed to remain so dominant despite her injuries.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="106160" first="Isabel" last="Grimes"], Breckinridge County-</strong> Although she plays as more of a wing than a lead guard, Grimes has nonetheless shown off plenty of playmaking ability. She racks up plenty of assists without being a primary ballhandler. She sets her teammates by making the right pass in the half-court, often generating open shots.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="157947" first="Monica" last="Lindsey"], North Hardin- </strong>An elite two-way player, Lindsey does not necessarily fit the mold of a traditional half-court passer. However, her two-way skills allow her to create plenty of buckets in transition. Lindsey has the skills to consistently set her teammates up for fast-break buckets, piling up plenty of assists in the process.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="157950" first="Peyton" last="Nauert"], Presentation- </strong>Taking on a do-it-all role as a scorer and rebounder, Nauert has also racked up plenty of assists as a team leader. She has displayed great vision, and always looks to make the perfect pass to set up a teammate. Her position as team leader only helps put her in the perfect position to assist her teammates.
