I spoke with the Head Coach of the Illinois Valley Warriors Blue Squad, Pat Cinotte, and asked him to break down his long but super successful week in Indianapolis.
Illinois Valley Warriors Blue
Session 1 USJN
The Illinois Valley Warriors Blue squad had a fantastic Session 1 at the USJN in Indianapolis. They finished 5-1, tieing for first in their pool. They got 2<sup>nd</sup> place overall due to a points tiebreaker. There were many key players that helped lead this team to success.
Mallory Olloffson: Normal Community High School 2021 – Mallory hit the 3 ball very well. She was a force on the boards and her defense shined throughout the whole session.
[player_tooltip player_id="123596" first="Addison" last="Newbon"]: Decatur St. Teresa 2021 – Addison had a busy session, knocking down 3s, getting to the rim and creating havoc on the defensive side of the court racking up steal after steal. Coach Cinotte stated that Addison has really stepped her game up. Addison was a USJN Pool All Star.
Megan Williams: Normal Community High School 2022 – Megan was a nightmare for defenders all tournament. She was constantly stretching the floor due to the fact that she is a super consistent shooter and shot maker that had the 3 ball working.
Natali Haynes: Streator High School 2021 – Natali filled the box scores all session. She was a force inside and was fantastic on the boards.
[player_tooltip player_id="160166" first="Katie" last="Baker"]: Serena High School 2022 - A point guard has to be a floor leader and Katie was just that at the USJN. She was all over the floor hustling and brought her best effort every game. She saw the floor very well and helped lead this team to great success.
Session 2 Nike TOC
The IV Warriors Blue went 4-1 during Session 2 Nike TOC. They again tied for first in their pool but finished 2<sup>nd</sup> due to a tiebreaker. Overall IV Warriors blue went 9-2 during their week in Indy. Coach Cinotte stated that Megan Williams and [player_tooltip player_id="123596" first="Addison" last="Newbon"] continued their great play from Session 1. Some other key players during Nike TOC:
Jada Davis: Peoria Richwoods High School 2022 – Jada was able to get to the rim all tournament and her defense really stood out.
Karleigh Creasey: Normal Community High School 2022 – Karleigh got to the rim well and overall had a very good tournament.
Kayla Peterson: Normal Univeristy High School 2022 – Kayla was a great presence inside throughout Nike TOC.
Olivia Allen: Peoria Richwoods High School 2021 – Olivia was a constant spark-plug off the bench for IV Warriors Blue. She hit huge buckets at the end of games to help propel the team to their great record.
