There are players out there that have the talent and skill to play at a higher level, but some players don’t get the recognition they deserve. Some players are running out of time to commit before they finish their high school careers. The junior season is usually the year that players commit to play at a college, and some still have not committed. I think that there are many players out there that have the ability to be successful during a college career.
Listed below are some Juniors going onto their Senior year that still have not committed, and I want these players to be recognized for their knack for the game:
- Rose Morse-2021, 5”8’, PG & SG, #30, Las Lomas High School(Walnut Creek, CA)
Rose Morse is the cherry on top of this list. She is a player that has the talent and skill to play at the highest level possible. She has the height and the wingspan that is very beneficial to her success on the court. As one of the top scorers on her team, and not to mention the top scorer in the North Coast Section, Rose deserves a spot on a highly recognized college team. Rose challenges herself against defenders and will do anything to score. It is time for Rose to earn a spot at the collegiate level. Rose scored 420 points total during her junior season and averaged 22.1 PPG. Along with an 83% field-goal percentage, and a 59% free-throw percentage. She has the ability to score and play defense at a high level, and will not be a player that disappoints.
- Ava Grey- 2021, Guard, #20, Lick-Wilmerding High School (San Francisco, CA)
Ava Grey is a very unique player, she is able to shoot three’s from NBA range. This is usually unheard of in high school basketball, not many players can hit from a range so far away. Ava’s perseverance during her basketball play is very admirable. Ava currently is the top three-point shooter in the North Coast Section, and rightfully deserves to be. Ava is a player that commits to every shot she takes and usually drains her shots no problem. College teams need players with this kind of shooting skill, especially if you need a late three-pointer in a close game. Ava averaged 10.1 PPG, and has a 32% three-point percentage. Ava’s shots are very challenging to defend, and she can create great opportunities for herself. Ava is a great player to consider for college scouts.
- Mia Mastrov Mia Mastrov 5'11" | PG Miramonte | 2021 State CA – 2021, 5’11”, Point Guard, #21, Miramonte High School(Orinda, CA)
This just goes to show that Miramonte High School has kept its legacy of having some of the most talented players in the state of California. Now Oregon University Alumni, Sabrina Inoescu was a Matador herself. Mia Mastrov Mia Mastrov 5'11" | PG Miramonte | 2021 State CA definitely contributes to this legacy of talented players at Miramonte High School. Averaged 15.1 PPG, and scored a total of 362 points her Junior season. Alongside those statistics, 2.4 APG, 5.6 RPG, and 2.8 SPG. This girl has talent all around and can use her skills successfully at a higher level. Colleges love players that play with intensity, and that’s exactly what Mia will bring to her game. Her competitive spirit, and willingness to play to her highest potential in every game is something that will help her be successful at the collegiate level. Mia Mastrov Mia Mastrov 5'11" | PG Miramonte | 2021 State CA is a player that will not let you down.
- Brooke Bischop- 2021, Guard, #14, Mendocino High School(Mendocino, CA)
Brooke Bischop is a player that you can’t miss an opportunity to see on the court. She is dedicated and truly puts her whole heart out in her gameplay. While being captain of her high school team, she led her team to a 7-3 record during her junior year. Brooke is always committed to the game, and you can tell when she plays. Brooke averaged 20.0 PPG, and scored a total of 480 points during the 2019-2020 season. She also had a 46% FG%, and a 65% FT%. Her rebounding abilities are something that stands out, Bischop averaged 10.1 RPG as well. That is an outstanding statistic to achieve. On top of all of her statistics, another thing to add to her accomplishments is her award of Player of the Year during the 2019-2020 season for Mendocino High School. Brooke is always competing, and playing hard. Her goal is to be successful and become a better player by the end of every game. Brooke Bischop has the hustle, and determination to play at a higher level, and I’m excited to see what her future holds.
