AAU season is in full swing right now with Kentucky teams traveling all over the Mid-west and girls earning scholarship offers over the weekend. Here’s an update on some AAU teams and the newest scholarship offers. <strong>If your AAU results weren’t printed, it’s because no one sent them in.</strong>
<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>AAU Results:</strong></span>
West Virginia Thunder 2024 went 4-0 in the Atlanta Summer Splash. Although it’s a West Virginia team, the roster is predominantly Kentucky kids. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="167099" first="Shaelyn" last="Steele"], [player_tooltip player_id="167106" first="Trinity" last="Rowe"], [player_tooltip player_id="158176" first="Hayden" last="Barrier"], [player_tooltip player_id="167104" first="Audrey" last="Biggs"] and [player_tooltip player_id="167137" first="Sarah" last="Baker"] </strong>all play big roles for the Thunder.
The 2022 Thunder team features <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="106147" first="Amaya" last="Asher"], [player_tooltip player_id="106139" first="Tyra" last="Flowers"] and [player_tooltip player_id="106135" first="Alyssa" last="Elswick"]. </strong>They went 3-1 with 2 OT games. Their only loss was in the Championship game. All three Kentucky ladies averaged in double figures over the 4 games.
Kentucky Select 15u went 3-1 on the weekend while playing 16u Competition at the Pacers Jamfest Scrimmages. <strong>Kylie Aytes</strong> averaged 11 points and 6 rebounds per game while running the point guard spot. <strong>Sarah Bottom</strong> averaged 10 points and 5 rebounds per game while showing the ability to step out and knock down perimeter jumpers.
Kentucky Fusion 2024 Played in the NEB Summer Showdown in Atlanta and went 5-2. <strong>Maleah Alexander</strong> was the team leader with 5 steals per game.
Kentucky Ballers Elite 2024 Played in the Freshman/Sophomore division in Mason, Ohio and went 2-2. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="167102" first="Carly" last="Smith"]</strong> shot the ball well all weekend, shooting over 50% from three for the weekend and making 4 threes per game. <strong>Madison Curry</strong> scored a team high 37 points in the final game while making 7 threes. <strong>Chloe McKnight</strong> had a 19 point game and led the team in rebounding all weekend.
<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>New Scholarship Offers:</strong></span>
Butler’s <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="88416" first="Tiarra" last="East"]</strong> is closing in on double figure D1 offers now. Temple was the latest school to offer as they had East on a Zoom call Monday before offering.
Tiarra’s teammate <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="88435" first="Dynastee" last="White"]</strong> was offered by Georgetown College this past weekend. That was her first scholarship offer.
Anderson County’s <strong>Tiffani Riley</strong> was also the recipient of her first offer. Hers came from Georgetown College also.
Top 10 Junior <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="106133" first="Rachel" last="Presley"] </strong>is up to 3 offers after West Florida offered her last week while on a visit.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="31850" first="Harley" last="Paynter"]</strong> keeps getting offers. Her two latest came from Fairfield and Southern Utah.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="154515" first="Shelby" last="Stewart"]</strong> of Corbin was offered by Union College last week. Shelby is one of the top Seniors in the 13th region.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="88433" first="Rory" last="O’Hara"]</strong> has been offered by University of Tampa. Rory’s stock continues to rise this summer.
<strong>Lacie Parks</strong> has been offered by Kentucky Christian University.
