These rising seniors are walking double-doubles. They have worked hard to get where they are, and many of them are all-conference or all-state selections. Here is who you should know:
[player_tooltip player_id="175321" first="Aujea" last="Bowman"]: The 5’10 guard from Fort Dorchester high school leads the way with 18 double-doubles this last season as a junior. Despite being 5’10 she can play almost any position. She is comfortable on the perimeter, driving, and even banging in the paint. On the season she averaged almost 20 points and 14 rebounds per game. She should have a pick of colleges after her senior season.
[player_tooltip player_id="185718" first="Zhani" last="Thompson"]: The 5’10 forward from Whale Branch high school had 14 double-doubles this last season as a junior. She is a long, lanky, athlete who jumps out of the gym. She knows how to use her size and strength to get into the paint and score and rebound. She can finish around the rim, she is comfortable driving it, and for her size she shoots the 3 ball pretty well too (29% on her junior season). On the season she averaged almost 12 points and rebounds per game. As an All-State selection in her junior season, I would expect bigger and better for her senior season. Another player who should have their pick of schools come time.
Melina HeidtHarris: The 6’1 forward who is part of the coastal home school association had 14 double-doubles this last season as a junior. She has really good size and knows how to use it, she is another one who can score it in a handful of ways. She has a high IQ, can make good decisions when the ball is in her hands. She is crafty around the rim and is able to finish left or right. She is another capable 3 point shooter (31% on her junior season), being able to stretch the floor with her size she makes the defense have to guard her. On the season she averaged around 15 points and 11 rebounds. She is someone to know going into her final season.
[player_tooltip player_id="124073" first="Mallory" last="Bruce"]: The 5’11 forward from Travelers Rest high school had 13 double-doubles this last season as a junior, and already has a few offers (low-major and D2) on the table. She is a skilled forward who, like her peers on this list, can score in a variety of ways. She is good with the ball in her hands, can make moves, get downhill and finish, can post up her smaller defenders, and can shoot the 3 ball just not as consistently yet (21% on her junior season). She is long and athletic, and moves extremely well. On the season she averaged nearly 20 points per game, and nearly 10 rebounds. She plays AAU for the SC 76ers organization.
[player_tooltip player_id="172180" first="Kiana" last="Lee"]: The 5’8 forward from North Augusta high school had 13 double-doubles this last season. She is strong, athletic, runs the floor well, and overall tough. She shoots the 3 ball consistently enough to where you have to guard her from there (33% on her junior season), otherwise she is just going to put it on the deck and get to the paint with ease. On the season she averaged nearly 13 points and 10 rebounds per game. She is also a state champion 3x in a row. She will make a great grab for someone.
