Chloe Kreusser, Westfield, Jr. – Kreusser had a very positive sophomore season for the Blue Devils. With weapons all across its roster, Westfield finished the year with a county title and 21 wins overall. Kreusser was a big reason why. She led the team in points on the year with 260, rebounds with 219, assists with 54 and was tied for second on the team in blocks with 13. She had five double-double performances on the season. Kreusser gets it done on both ends, and she should take the next step as a junior.
Greta Criqui, Oak Knoll, Sr. — Criqui had a productive junior season for Oak Knoll, finishing as one the top scorers on the team. She has seen playing time since her freshman year, and that experience should make for a big senior season. Criqui, who is also a top lacrosse player, has the capability of hitting from the perimeter, getting to the foul line and grabbing rebounds and finding teammates. She should be a go-to player this season as Oak Knoll tries to get back to the county tournament semifinals.
Shauntia Alexander, Roselle Catholic, So. – Alexander made a splash for Roselle Catholic last season. She is a very capable scorer who can go for 20-25 points on any given night. Alexander can rebound at will as well. Expect her to keep it going in her sophomore season.
Amaris Jenkins, Roselle Catholic, Jr. – Jenkins made a nice leap from freshman to sophomore season with Roselle Catholic. She is a player who fills the stat sheet in points, rebounds, assists, blocks and steals. Jenkins knows her role well and she should be a strong 1-2 punch alongside Alexander for the Lions.
Elizabeth McCaffery, Cranford, Sr. – McCaffery had 14 double-figure games last season for Cranford as a junior. She has shown capability of knocking down shots from long range. Consistency will be key for McCaffery in her senior year.
Meghan Lamanna, New Providence, So. – Lamanna has tremendous potential for New Providence as she enters her sophomore campaign. She led the team in scoring last season. Lamanna can knock down the perimeter shot with extreme confidence, hitting five 3-pointers in a pair of games last season. In 31 games last year, Lamanna finished with 386 points and 52 steals.
Madison Johnson, Union Catholic, Sr. – Johnson is a prolific scorer for Union Catholic. She averaged 16.3 points per game last season. She went for 20 or more points in 12 games. Johnson can rebound the ball, as she totaled double-doubles on two occasions a season ago. Expect a strong senior season for Johnson.
Katie Ledden, Johnson, So. – Ledden came on as a freshman and had a very successful year for the Johnson Crusaders. She put up strong numbers, averaging 12.3 points per game, 9.3 rebounds per game, 2.9 blocks per game and 2.1 steals per game. Ledden simply affects the game on both ends. She had 10 blocks in a game last season. She can score from inside and outside and is a tough cover for any defender. Ledden will be on the radar of many college coaches and it’s easy to see why.
