Andover Central | 2022
State
KS
, 5’8″, SG/SF, Andover Central, Wheat State Elite Paul — Entering the ranks at #27, Stearns has followed up a strong sophomore campaign with a terrific summer. Averaging 10 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and 2.3 assists (1.24 to 1 assists to turnovers ratio) while earning selection to the 2020 Ark Valley Chisholm Trail Div II second team, she made 42 threes at a 34% clip. Solid all around, she showed good transition IQ to fill space and can quickly hit the spot-up three. More than a shooter, she can get to the rim off the bounce and finish creatively. Her most subtle skill is actively moving without the ball. On the other end, she aggressively will deny interior passes into the post.

Next Level Eclipse
Silver — Dawson, a 2020 Greater Wichita League honorable mention selection, joins the ranks in the #75 spot. At June’s MAYB Summer Kickoff she showed strong handles with speed, athleticism, and quickness. A very solid perimeter defender, getting physically stronger will make her even moreso. Dawson is a good free throw shooter but needs to develop consistency with her perimeter shot.
Allie Burns Allie Burns 5'8" | CG Bishop Miege | 2022 State KS , 5’8″, W, Bishop Miege, Next Level Eclipse 17U Red — Burns and her teammates made the trip down from the Kansas City area to play a MAYB tournament in Andover July 11-12. While I did not get a lengthy opportunity to see her, she left an impression. Entering the ranks at #102, Burns did a solid job defending a very good wing for the Victory Christian (MO) squad. Good to see was her elevation on rebounds.

Next Level Eclipse
Silver — Scott will be one to watch in the upcoming year. Entering the ranks at #105, she showed physicality, motor, and heart at the MAYB Summer Kickoff. In a game where her squad was down big against a team with a great deal of size she just kept battling. I would like to see her get stronger, because she was overpowered frequently, and be of mind to step in a draw the charge. Scott had opportunities on the offensive end as well. She showed she can consistently hit the mid-range jumper, that she has good hands, and has a solid back-to-basket game. A player not worth fouling, she’s a good free-throw shooter.

Pretty Prairie | 2022
State
KS
, 5’11”, C/PF, Pretty Prairie, Western Kansas Elite — The 2020 Heart of the Plains League all-league selection enters at #106. Vogl is a diversely skilled, small school player. She has athleticism to drive under the basket for the reverse layup, good timing and sense to block shots, and good bounce in the paint off the catch to score. She can hit the occasional three and has the back-to-basket game ability to seal defenders to get the shot she wants.
Brookelyn Williams

Williams

Wichita Heights | 2022
State
KS
, 5’10”, SF/PF, Heights, Dynasty 17U — I was able to see Williams a couple times this summer. Her game was consistent on each occasion. Entering at #107, Williams is athletic and active on the glass, fluid off the rebound, and can outlet the ball quickly. She has a terrific head and shoulder fake that enables her to get to the hole from the mid-range.

Jefferson West | 2022
State
KS
, 5’9″, SF, Jefferson West, Kansas Twisters — Entering at #108, Roenne appeared in my July 2022 profile raisers article. At July’s MAYB Reign the Plains tournament the lefty showed three point range and good elevation on the stretch runner. Needs a bit more confidence finishing with her right but she moves well without the ball and can score it.
Sophie Deveney

Deveney

Blue Valley | 2022
State
KS
, 5’10”, F, Blue Valley, Kansas Elite 17U Zars — Deveney enters the ranks at #117. At MAYB Reign the Plains she showed a strong crossover dribble, the ability to finish with speed, and vision on entry passes.
Tatem Adair Tatem Adair 5'2" | PG Wichita Southeast | 2022 State KS , 5’0″, PG, Wichita East, Dynasty 17U — Like her teammate Williams above, I was able to see #121 Adair play a few times this summer. Of anybody I saw this shortened summer, Adair did not play above herself or out of control. With good quickness and speed, she is a distributor first. She can score when given the opportunity. One instance, on a break, she slowed about 10′ from the basket – jabbed – hit the jumper. Slick.

KS
, 6’2″, C, Basehor-Linwood,
Next Level Eclipse
17U Red — Lawless debuts at #127 and is a player I hope to get more opportunities to see. With a solid build and good length the ability that stood out at the July 11, Andover, MAYB Tournament was her hands. Can catch in traffic and has the inside game to score it.
