They gave it their all and every single one of them played the game the correct way, meaning they got after it on defense and showed all of their skill sets to the coaches and programs watching the Live Feed to the game. Here are some names of some newcomers that we think you should know, hope you enjoy the evaluations that follow.
2022, 5’10, SF, San Dieguito Academy HS, Piper Ligotti – She is able to handle the ball pretty well and create off the dribble, she is very crafty for her size. She is agile and not afraid to to go at her opponents, but this kid was very impressive to us with her size and they way she moved on the floor.
2022, 5’5, SG, El Capitan HS, Faiane Eteuini – Big bodied guard that is tough on the defensive end of the floor, she was just tough all around, meaning she would not quit on her team and did everything she could to help them win. Very solid body as a guard, knows how to use it on the floor and against her opponents.
2023, 6’0, C, Carlsbad HS, Brooklyn Kelly – Skilled post player with the ability to score with either hand in the post, was very skilled in the paint and showed it in the games we watched. Had a knack for scoring in the paint with either hand which is a good skill to have at the next level. She is also a great rebounder for her team, could get rebounds out of position and put back.
2023, 5’8, SG, Oceanside HS, Nevaeh Mageo – She can put the ball on the floor and create off the dribble, which allows her to get anywhere she wanted on the floor. She was pretty good on the defensive end of the floor, knew how to play help side and was always in the correct spots on the floor. She also impressed us by the couple of three pointer she hit from the perimeter of the bounce and off the catch. Her free throws can stand to improve a little, but this girl is solid.
2023, 6’2, C, San Joaquin Memorial HS, Meadow Roland Meadow Roland 6'2" | C San Joaquin Memorial | 2023 State CA – This girl is special, with her size, she reminds me of Lisa Leslie with a better jump shot from three from the outside. She blocks shots off the backboard, she ran the floor and finished in transition as well as could run the break herself and make the right play. Very High IQ for a kid this age, she is gonna be fun to watch this year.
2023, 6’0, PF, Clovis West HS, Etoya Montgomery Etoya Montgomery 6'0" | PF Clovis West HS | 2023 State CA – Etoya is special as well, athletic wing type body with great timing for blocking shots, dominant in the post area, shot the midrange with consistency, but was a rebounding machine that just keeps coming at you. Her rebounding and shot blocking skills are unmatched by anyone in her class, but one thing I like is that she can get a bucket any time she wants.
