CAM opened the 2019-20 season by winning 13 of its first 15 games before a bit of a late-season slump. However, they rebounded to advance to a Class 1A regional semifinal. Leading rebounder Mallory Behnken returns after averaging almost seven boards a night including two on the offensive glass. The Rolling Valley Conference runners-up also have [player_tooltip player_id="163346" first="Marissa" last="Spieker"], [player_tooltip player_id="131188" first="Zoey" last="Baylor"], Reese Snyder, Naomi Grubbs and Molly Venteicher back. Spieker sank 28 three-pointers with Baylor and Snyder each recording 18 made triples.

It was a learning season for Camanche on the hardwood last winter, as the Indians played nine underclassmen. They will hope that experience pays off this year. Leading scorer Tarah Wehde has graduated, but Lauren Snyder returns after scoring 109 points with 92 rebounds and 40 assists. Aubrey Carstensen, Maci Sloane and Maddie Michels were also key contributors.

One benefit to having a short bench last year was that Cardinal returns six players with key experience including four that started games. Kolbie Bass and [player_tooltip player_id="165014" first="Alexia" last="McClure"] are the leaders. McClure, a senior, scored 211 points with 137 rebounds and 35 steals. Bass added 72 points, 80 boards, 53 assists and 42 steals. As a team, the Comets recorded 213 steals.
