Austen came onto the Varsity floor last season as a 6'1 SF, who can also spread the floor with a fundamental shot from behind the three point line. She didn't see a ton of minutes each contest but she stepped in multiple times throughout the year to show she is coordinated, lengthy, and smart when the rock is in her possession. The reason Austen is featured in this piece is because her combination of size and skill. With her natural height and dedicated work either, she just needs to continue to work on the small things and she will return this Winter as a killer for the Trojans.

Let's be real about it. Taylor Evans is one of the tallest prospects that the state has to offer, she is disciplined between the blocks, and knows what she does best at this point in her career. If you look at some of her stat lines over the last couple of seasons, you noticed that she is a rebounding and blocking machine. She is always recording big numbers in both of those categories and that is not going to slow down any time soon with how their high school schedule is looking. Evans is going to get a shot at the next level because she is a true 6'3 with some soft touch on the ball. She is a hard matchup for most to deal with unless they try to triple team her and even then sometimes that doesn't work.

The speed and quickness of Ambers is what makes her a tough player to stay in front of on any floor. Ambers is going to be looked upon to make some winning plays over the next few years at DSM Roosevelt High School with the turn over they will have from their upperclassman graduation as of recent. She has had the ability to learn from another like guard playing in front of her the past couple of years so I'm sure she has picked up some tricks throughout.

Eden Horn is another story of too big and too strong for her competition level. Horn is 6'3, she is a heck of defender in the lane, and she always seems to be floating around to make a play on the ball if one of her teammates is slacking. Horn is up there with Evans as the Top BPG leaders in Iowa last season, which makes a lot of sense. She is more than just a taller hooper, she seems to really care about what's going on around her whenever she is competing. I'm hoping this AAU season is going to help Horn with adding some more experience. If she can do that and take some bruises it's only going to make her better during the Winter season.

You don't just get some solid height with Kynlee Buffington out of Winfield-Mt. Union High School. You also get strength, situational awareness, and someone that is willing to scrap with ANYONE standing in her way. Offensively, she will play with her back to the basket and dominate going over the defense or she can attack from 15FT out and use finesse to make things happen. Defensively, she has some nights where she seems to be everywhere at once because of her reach and quick reaction times. All in all, this is not someone you want to cross when you have foul trouble cause if so, she is only going to make it worse by going at you.
