Centerville had a strong 2019-20 season, winning 16 games and pushing Des Moines Christian in a Class 3A regional semifinal. The Big Reds return three key players from that unit in [player_tooltip player_id="165032" first="Claire" last="Mathews"], Claire George and [player_tooltip player_id="63633" first="Mickey" last="Stephens"]. Mathews, a senior, led Centerville with 336 points on 47 percent shooting. George had 155 rebounds and Stephens dished out 84 assists as the Big Reds finished second in the South Central Conference. Jayleigh Swarts is also back after recording 72 rebounds.

Central City graduates just one player in Lillie Kramer, as leading scorers [player_tooltip player_id="63630" first="Sara" last="Reid"] and Emma Fritcher are back. Reid, a junior, accounted for 312 points, 166 rebounds, 59 assists and 37 steals last year. Fritcher added 228 points and 162 rebounds. [player_tooltip player_id="163356" first="Tesla" last="Malloy"] led the Wildcats with 25 three-pointers, while Sarah Ashley added 36 steals and 16 assists.

Central Decatur relied on a strong senior group to win 19 games a year ago. Now, the Cardinals must hope those who were around the program can carry on the tradition. That includes returning starters Hallee Hamilton and Lyndsey Dale. Hamilton accounted for 140 points with 53 assists, 47 rebounds and 35 steals, while Dale added 117 points, 56 assists, 46 steals and 36 rebounds. They also combined for 37 made three-pointers.
