The Top 250 Expo is a great platform for players to showcase their skills. Athletes from all across Georgia converged at LakePoint with two goals in mind: 1. Get better. 2. Get noticed. These names below hadn’t appeared much on our site before, but they made a lasting impression and won’t soon be forgotten.
2022 5-9 F Jalaya Eskridge – Evans
A physical inside-out forward, Jalaya Eskridge brought some toughness around the paint. She was a quality rebounder and had the skill to score with either hand around the basket. Jalaya can steal some time on the perimeter and can hit the mid-range shot. Her effort defensively led to multiple steals throughout the day.
2023 5-6 PG Hannah Cail – Calvary Day
Hannah Cail handled the ball with confidence against pressure and did a good job of getting her team organized. She’s a good athlete with a high IQ and overall feel for the game. Cail is a major threat from beyond the arc. When she gets her feet set, she can pour in threes at a high rate. She has a really good looking future down on the coast as the next in a long line of very tough Calvary Day guards.
2022 5-11 F Sariya Henry – Grayson
Making the move from Loganville to Grayson for her junior season, Sariya Henry has a lot of tools to work with and could be a player to track over the next two years. She’s got great length and is a very good athlete that can get off the ground in a hurry. Henry has a consistent motor and plays hard on both ends of the floor. She can crash the glass effectively and has the wingspan to snatch rebounds and convert putbacks. She still may be a little raw as far as her ball skills on the perimeter go, but stick her in the paint and she’s ready to compete right now. It will be interesting to see how she develops at her new home.
2022 5-0 PG Rachel Lopez – Ringgold
The smallest player in camp more than held her own. Rachel Lopez is a quick playmaker that does a great job of keeping her dribble alive while probing the defense. She can wiggle her way into cracks and has the vision to fit in tough passes to open teammates. Lopez plays with poise and is comfortable handling the ball and running an offense.
2022 5-11 F Taralyn Brown – Bainbridge
Taralyn Brown caught the eye of her coaches throughout the day with her mixture of strength and skill. At first glance, Brown is a rugged post player capable of moving bodies and clearing the boards but when you watch her play, she’s able to play on the perimeter and both distribute off the dribble and shoot the three in the flow of the offense. Her diverse arsenal makes her a unique player with high upside.
2024 5-5 PG Taliah Cornish – Maynard Jackson
One of the youngest players in camp, Taliah Cornish had no issue sticking with the big girls. Cornish has no lack of confidence. She excelled at balancing her scoring with her playmaking. She played with great pace and the ball never stuck when it was in her hands. Cornish hit threes and got to the bucket throughout the day. Even for her size, Cornish was a scrappy defender that was willing to take on challenges. Expect to hear much more about Taliah over her next four years.
