It was my first live basketball since March, and over the next few days, I will take a look at some of the talent who participated in the event.
Sydnee Sheppard, 5-2 Walnut Hills
This Cincinnati area guard showed a lot of quickness and speed in her games at the event. I was impressed with how she used that to her advantage along with her aggressiveness on defense. She harassed with her quick hands on defense, which looked this day to be one of the strongest aspects of her game. She had impressive court vision and in transition, passed the ball well for the easy points for her team.
Jordan Rogers Jordan Rogers 5'8" | CG Franklin | 2021 State OH , 5-10 Franklin
Did a great job running the point for her team in the game I saw, and she showed good next-level skills with confidence and poise running the offense. Was impressive the way she found her teammates, showed the ability to penetrate and kick it out, or as I have always seen, can shoot from anywhere around the perimeter. Can play the 1-3 at the next level with effectiveness and her ability to want to always get better showed me she has what it takes to make a successful college player.
Bailey Zerby, 5-8 Bellbrook
Athletic kid who plays well in transition and can play either guard spot. Good enough handles to run the offense, or has tools to play outside. Can play in transition and moves well without the ball. Has a nose for the ball, active hands and can play physical if needed.
Peyton Nation, 5-10 Springboro
Very good perimeter shooter but can do much more than that. Has the skills to get inside and score at the rim, has good body control. Showed a lot of promise on the boards with strong hands. Has good handles, can see the court well and will push the ball in transition. Has a college-ready build where she can handle the more physical style of play.
Taylor Starks, 5-3 Reynoldsburg
Great day for this smaller guard with a solid skill set. Ran the show well with outstanding handles. Strong with either hand and athletic enough to be dangerous in all aspects of the game. Outstanding passer and can push the ball in transition.
