As a whole, the limited number of freshman who participated in this event all showed a willingness to compete and learn, and all of them showed a promising upside when it comes to a future in this game. The 2024 MVP Becca Sanders from Mason who was featured earlier in the week also is among this group of talented players.
Riley Abney, 5-7 Brandon (MI)
Showed some good promise for an incoming freshman. Pretty polished at the basics and she showed a lot of good things from beyond the arc. She was not afraid to take the deep three with a solid perimeter game, and moved pretty well to get into position to score. Riley (pictured right) has good handles and showed good court awareness in the offense. As she grows and matures, I look for her game to blossom as she makes her way through her high school career. Excited to follow her track.
Maddie Mueller, 5-7 Lebanon
This young lady has a bright future ahead of her in the Miami Valley as she looked very solid at this event. Maddie (pictured left) knows where to be on the floor for the best opportunity. She runs the floor well and is a smart player. Right now, it is just about building her confidence as she gains experience. She reads and reacts well to the situation she is in. Good handles, solid on-ball defender.
Jaiden Maiben, 5-8 Princeton
Showed some good promise when she was on the floor, as she is another one with a good upside. Like all of the freshman, it’s all about confidence and experience for her, as she prepares for her first season of high school basketball season. Energetic and willing to learn, Jaiden (pictured above) needs to continue to work on her game, strengthen and fine-tune has handles and focus on learning from those with experience.
