Many of the players already honored earlier this week were very skilled and athletic, but here are five more kids who did great things with the basketball and their athleticism.
Jada Ghee, 5-5 2022, Williamsville North (NY)
This young lady made the long trip and impressed those in attendance with her ability to play at a high tempo style of play. Jada (pictured right) will harass her opponent on defense with impressive on-ball defense and she uses her athleticism to get out and go in transition. She can fly on the break and create things in the open court. She also has a good range to her shot, able to connect from out beyond the arc.
Tai Roberts Tai Roberts 5'6" | PG Andrews Osborne Academy | 2022 State OH , 5-5 2022, Andrews Osborne Academy
She has a great athletic frame and is a super quick guard and can get past her defender without a lot of extra effort. Tai (pictured left) puts the ball on the floor well and can explode to the rim and score. Dangerous around the rim despite her small size. One thing to improve is her ability to score on both sides of the rim, but her overall game is strong and effective. Has very solid court awareness and can make things happen for her team.
Autumn Taylor, 5-6 2023, Laurel School
This player seemed to get better as I saw her throughout the day. She can do it all with her athleticism and is starts in transition. Autumn (feature photo above) moved the ball north-south as well as anyone on this day, and with her only being a sophomore, her best basketball should be in front of her. She can use her speed and body control to create offense for her and her teammates. One of her strengths is the ability to get to the rim, and she will also defend.
Mallory Mullen Mallory Mullen 6'0" | PF Springfield Catholic Central | 2022 OH , 6-0 2022, Springfield Catholic Central
The most athletic kid in the building. She can jump out of the gym as the old saying goes. Turning herself into a better basketball player instead of just relying on athleticism for everything. Has really gotten better finishing at the rim and has a nice tough around the basket. Her vertical is stunning, as the former state high jump champion showed some very impressive things on the court. Runs the floor well, can get into position and uses her body well to rebound. Stock continues to rise! (pictured right)
Ariel Grace, 5-5 2023, Columbus Africentric Early College
She is part of one of the most successful programs in Ohio, and this sophomore is skilled and should continue to get better. Ariel (pictured left) has great ball and body control, good around the rim and can finish effectively. She is productive from either side of the rim. Her on-ball defense is very skilled and she has a good range on her shot, able to score from deep.
