New Jersey had some amazing offensive players a season ago. A ton of them will be returning. Let’s take a look at some top returning scorers.
Colleen McQuillen Colleen McQuillen 5'10" | SG Cresskill | 2021 State NJ , Cresskill, Sr. – McQuillen had a monster junior year for Cresskill. She was fourth in the state with 25.4 points per game She finished with 737 points in 29 games. McQuillen put up some amazing numbers. Her season-high was an eye-opening 41 points against Paramus Catholic in early February. She reached double figures in 28 of 29 games, and she went for 30 or more nine times. She will be a top player in the state as a senior.
Nay Nay Clark, Oakcrest, Sr. – Clark finished fifth in the state with 24.5 points per game, accumulating 638 points in 26 games. Clark reached the 1,000-point milestone a season ago. She reached double figures in every game last year, opening the season with a 40-point showing in a victory over Camden. Clark is a prolific scorer, but she can do so many other things as well. In fact, she had games with 12 and 14 steals last season, too.
Rylie Theuerkauf Rylie Theuerkauf 5'7" | SG Tenafly | 2023 State NJ , Tenafly, So. – How about Theuerkauf’s freshman season? She averaged 21.7 points per game, putting up 521 points in 24 games of action. Her top games were 41 points in a win over Dwight-Morrow and 37 points in victories over Ridgefield Park and Mount St. Dominic. The sky is the limit for Theuerkauf as she enters her sophomore year.
Kiley Capstraw Kiley Capstraw 5'10" | SG West Orange | 2022 State NJ , West Orange, Jr. – Capstraw missed a chunk of games last season but was extremely productive in the games she played in. She averaged 21.4 points per game, scoring 450 points in 21 games. Capstraw dropped 36 points in a win over Newark Tech, and she put up 33 twice in victories over Arts and Verona.
Alexis Davis Alexis Davis 6'0" | SF Woodbury | 2023 State NJ , Glassboro, So. – Davis was another freshman who made an impact right away. She was a scoring machine, averaging 21.2 points per game in 29 games. She put up double figures in every game but two last season, with her season-best being 33 points in a win over Penns Grove. Davis was able to do it all on the court a year ago, and her sophomore season may be even greater.
