Fort Madison’s eight wins a season ago were the most for the Bloodhounds since the 2016-17 season when they finished a second consecutive year with nine victories. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="63039" first="Camille" last="Kruse"] will be the focal point after leading the team in scoring with 232 points and assists with 38 last year. She shot almost 34 percent from the three-point line. Top rebounder Brandy Walker is also back, as the senior grabbed 146 total rebounds including nearly five per game on the defensive end. Senior Nadia Boeding was second on the team with 24 made triples as the Bloodhounds sank 88 three-pointers in all.

Before we get to the season lookahead, how about this from Fremont-Mills last year. The Knights averaged 41.5 points per game and allowed 41.5 points per game. All that led to a 9-12 season and a fourth place finish in the Corner Conference standings. [player_tooltip player_id="129061" first="Kaelynn" last="Driskell"] returns for her junior campaign after leading Fremont-Mills in scoring at just under 11 points per game. She is joined by sophomore Teagan Ewalt, who started all 21 games as a ninth-grader last season. Kenna Howard, Malea Moore, Emma Malcom, Ella Owen and Chloe Kirchert provide experience after seeing the court in at least 10 games.

Leading scorer [player_tooltip player_id="165019" first="Jayden" last="Frank"] and top rebounder Liz Richardson will lead Garner-Hayfield/Ventura in the top-heavy Top of Iowa Conference West division this season. The Cardinals will compete with state contenders Bishop Garrigan and West Hancock. Frank, a senior, led the team at nearly 12 points per game last year, shooting 35 percent from the field and 27 percent from the three-point line. She also had a team-high 54 assists. Richardson, a junior, provided almost six rebounds a night.
