At the Arizona Top 250 Expo, there was a wide range of guards with varied skill sets - from the traditional floor general to the exciting offensive sparkplug as they played a crucial role for their respective teams. Priscila Varela is an athletic guard who fills out several roles based on her athletic ability alone. [player_tooltip player_id="73478" first="Mackenzie" last="Shivers"] is a facilitator who makes it her role to find others in stride along the basket. Abigail Kennedy is a skilled scorer as she has the skill set that is needed alongside the perimeter. Eanae Dagons is a scorer who can do it at all three levels who is incredibly witty in her offensive efforts. [player_tooltip player_id="114259" first="Lilah" last="Moore"] is a point guard with size and swagger whereas [player_tooltip player_id="136288" first="Hollie" last="Dalton"] is an aggressive slasher type. Priscila Varela 2021 5’7" PG Mesquite HS - Athletic, springy guard who can run in the transition but also surprises with her quick step in the half-court setting. Has a number of ways to finish around the rim with acrobatic moves - is incredibly versatile in this regard. She is a great defender based on athletic ability alone. She contributed 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals, showing her abilities as a two way player. [player_tooltip player_id="73478" first="Mackenzie" last="Shivers"] 2022 5’5" PG Mesa HS - Mackenzie is a smooth operator in the transition who finds others in the fastbreak setting who doesn’t hesitate to give it up. But in the half-court setting she turns into a slick shooter who knows it down with great consistency. Good on-ball defender who uses her quickness and agility to her advantage. Contributed a 10 point, 3 rebound, 3 assist, 3 steal effort as she was a key member in their victory. Abigail Kennedy 2022 5’7" SG Half Moon Bay HS - Perhaps her team’s most intriguing perimeter scorer as she has the length and size combined with the perimeter skills to make plays and score all over the court. She had a strong take to the cup, a perimeter jumper, and sank a three to show that she can get it done at all three levels. Had a 11 point, 5 rebound, 2 assist effort that was revealing of her all around game but perhaps it is her size and fluidity that is most engaging as a recruit. Eanae Dagons 2021 5’3" PG Desert Vista HS - Dagans was a versatile scorer for her team as she found ways to contribute offensively - particularly as a shooter who can get it done mid-range and from deep. Also an established rebounder who has good timing and battles for it on both ends. Finished with 9 points and 7 rebounds as a difference maker who toughened it out down the stretch. [player_tooltip player_id="114259" first="Lilah" last="Moore"] 2022 5’10" Pinnacle HS - Point guard with a lot of size and length and plays with a certain confidence and swagger. Can score at three levels, with an array of floaters, drives, and perimeter shots. Rebounds well due to size - on both ends - a facilitator who gets the job done with awareness and swagger. Contributed 9 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 block, and 1 steal. [player_tooltip player_id="136288" first="Hollie" last="Dalton"] 2021 5’7" PG Prescott HS (Pictured) - Dalton is a relentless offensive player who gets it done with an aggressive mindset as a slasher and perimeter shooter. She is incredibly efficient, who scores off second chance opportunities and makes the most out of her touches. She is a significant rebounder who uses her productivity on the glass as well. Contributed 14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 block.
