The COVID-19 pandemic shut down the girls’ basketball season early. This did not allow Lincoln to make another run for a sectional title but this season will be special, just like the rest. They will have their star back for one more year to continue to impress.
Coar is an elite three-point shooter. She has unlimited range that begins once she enters the gym. Lincoln likes to get the ball in her hands out on the perimeter and it is easy considering her ability to move and find the open spot. Defenders know this and venture our deep to guard her. This is something that head coach Tom Best likes to see.
When defenders try to take away her outside shot, Coar has the ability to use her quickness to get by them and score around the rim. She is a shifty ball handler and that part of her game will continue to improve. She has shown great strength around the rim finishing with contact.
Lincoln graduated two key players this year in Tiyanni McClary and Tymira Miller. Usually, a team would have to wait for the season to begin to find their next leader but Lincoln has one waiting.
Coar has all the makings of a leader on and off the court. She is skilled, smart, and humble. Coar immediately makes Lincoln a must-watch team and we have not even tipped off yet. For any team, it is important to know who the captains are and who will have the ball down the stretch of a game. For Lincoln, Coar checks all the boxes.
