Ball-handling it’s one of the most exciting skills in the game of basketball, this skill is what is needed to perform at an elite level if you are a guard. Dribbling a basketball well is one of the most difficult things to do in any sport, especially when when their is a defender or defenders coming at you trying to take the ball from you. To handle the ball with grace is as beautiful thing as it is special it’s the key thing for a guard to become one of the best to be considered a strong solid guard for their team. This is a skill that must be developed, each and every day, from day one when you first pick up a ball. Some players have a fancy way of dribbling utilizing crossovers and behind-the-backs to confuse and frustrate their opponent. While others can be controlled amd smooth with the ball in their hands, using more fundamental play to break down the teams defense. This list ranks the 10 best of the best ball-handlers in the North Carolina. [player_tooltip player_id="116870" first="Saniya" last="Rivers"] - Saniya’s too quick, too smart, simply too good. She’s unstoppable in so many phases of the game, able to take over and take control on either end. River can cross you, and she loves to do that, and set up the step-back three shot. If you blink you will miss her first step. Its so quick she’ll leave you in her dust before you knew what happened. India Nivar - Nivar is a smooth silky act with the basketball on the court, and I mean that in a good way. she’s the most solid and agile ball-handler in the NC, spinning circles wildly and passing behind her back to teammates with ease. India can weave through traffic so smoothly making it seem almost effortlessly. Sydney Baker - Baker is a player who had perfected some skillful moves that makes guarding her very difficult. She a solid point guard who controls the floor in commanding fashion. She is very versatile and could perform multiple moves either side of the court. Baker also has a signature move, which was referred to as a teardrop floater [player_tooltip player_id="116881" first="Diamond" last="Thomas"] - Thomas explosive low to floor ball handling skills, are quick explosive and effective. She can blow by many defenders with finishing strong in the paint. She pushes the ball up the floor with great pace with consistent control. Diamond possesses some skilled moves. Her crossovers often leave defenders lying on the floor helplessly. Her skillful moves are also one the best in the state. Jayde Gamble - Gamble long and silky is one of the most dangerous offensive players in her class in NC. Jayde Gamble’s height and length make her deceptively fast when dribbling and tough for other opponents to stop. She routinely crosses up defenders while finishing plays with pull up threes or finding her teammates with spectacular passes. Kylie Chavis - Chavis’s handle was on full display in this season while capturing the Conference Player of the year honors. Kylie dribbles strong and explosive against her opponents. She did a step-backs maneuver to drain a threes all over the place with her skill being able to get to any spot on the floor. [player_tooltip player_id="201041" first="Nyla" last="Cooper"] - Cooper posses some skilled moves. Her strong, quick crafty handles allows her often to leave defenders behind to get to the bucket. She is a very solid combo guard that takes care of the ball very well by making little turners. Her skillful moves are also compared to one of the top in her class in the state of North Carolina. [player_tooltip player_id="116904" first="Jerni" last="Kiaku"] - Kiaku a very explosive and quick guard, who can get by anyone. Kiaku’s ability to cross up her defenders, which includes her behind-the-back move, and deadly cross over is one of the best in the state of NC. Her ball handling is like a highlight waiting to happen. Skylar White - White as one of the. These moves give you over your opponents unlike any skill, including shooting. This skill is the most exciting part of the game next to the dunk in my opinion.
