The Carolina Border Clash – hosted by Carolina Girls Hoops Report – took place at a familiar venue in Mooresville. That venue was the Talbert Recreation Center. Teams from the 17U, 16U, 15U and 14U divisions were on hand.

Charlotte Monarchs 15U's Saturday in Mooresville started off auspiciously as her team earned a defensive-minded victory over NC Team Reign JV. Chisholm would lead her team with eight points en route to the Saturday morning victory. The 2025-26 high school season with Queen's Grant would see Chisholm be part of a Stallions team that finished with a record of 26-4 and made a deep run in the 2A state tournament. Among the many strong points to Chisholm's game include the ability to connect on 3-pointers, always keeping her eye where the ball is, keeping her hands and arms outstretched on defense, effective running of the floor and getting creative from time to time with how she finishes at the cup.

Gaines put together a breakout freshman season in 2025-26 for 6A Kings Mountain. She would play in 24 games this past season and averaged 12.2 points per contest. Gaines is another who opposing defenses have to watch when she has the ball behind the 3-point arc. She understands when to attack and when to distribute as evidenced by the passes the can make as a transition playmaker. Getting into position to grab her own rebounds is another strong point of Gaines' overall game and she can wreak havoc on defense either one-on-one or as part of a double team. Gaines was one of eight Mountaineers freshmen from last season.

Lee has junior varsity experience at Gray Collegiate as well as time playing on the varsity assembling. One of the signature names for [program_tooltip program_id='713672' first='Palmetto' last='Pressure']'s 15U team, her 5-foot-9 frame combined with her all-around talent makes Lee a potent threat at the four. Not only can Lee convert on high-percentage shot opportunities, she also provides a shot-blocking threat on defense. Lee was one of four freshmen last season on coach Brandon Wallace's Gray Collegiate team. When the 2026-27 season tips off in November, Lee and her War Eagles will move up from 4A to 5A where among its region rivals will be Blythewood and Ridge View.

Nunez established herself as the signature name for 2A Eau Claire last season. The Shamrocks may have encountered their struggles on the court, but Nunez was consistent from start to finish last season in her breakout eighth grade season in green an orange. One can place Nunez as either a point guard or at the two. She would compete in all 21 games last season for Eau Claire and averaged 13.2 points, 3.4 steals and 3.1 rebounds per game. When the 2026-27 high school season tips off, Eau Claire will be a 1A team. Nunez was one of two from the class of 2030 on last season's Shamrocks team.
