It’s never too early for too-early-season. With fall sports and school underway, it’s only a matter of time before the winter sports season is upon us.
With that in mind, here’s a look at some of the top wings in Class B:
[player_tooltip player_id="14168" first="Abby" last="Duchscherer"], Kindred
Duchscherer earned all-state honors for the second year in a row, averaging 21 points, 10 rebounds and five assists while leading the Vikings to the Region 1 championship game. She’s the best prospect in the state regardless of age and her ability to control a game on both ends of the floor makes her one of the few dominant players in the state.
[player_tooltip player_id="14185" first="Rozalind" last="Strong"], Dunseith
Strong is one of the top individual players in Region 4 after averaging about 22 points, six rebounds and four assists for a solid Dunseith team. She’s got all-state potential over the next two years, as she’s a terrific multi-level scorer who can create for her teammates and impact the game defensively.
[player_tooltip player_id="206273" first="Morgan" last="Freije"], LEM
LEM is coming off an undefeated state title winning season where Freije was a solid No. 2 option offensively. The Cardinals graduated both of their starting guards from last season, so she’ll likely take on a bigger role in the playmaking department. She’s capable of defending all over the floor and will have a big opportunity to be the featured offensive option.
[player_tooltip player_id="204012" first="Isabelle" last="Boyer"], Grant County
Boyer was an all-state selection last year and is one of the most dominant players in Region 5 after averaging 23 points and 12 rebounds as a junior. A walking double-double, Boyer is capable of taking over a game with her ability to score at will, rebound on both ends of the floor, make plays and defend with force.
[player_tooltip player_id="100449" first="Hailey" last="Quam"], Wilton/Wing
Quam is one of the young stars of Class B and is one of the best players in Region 5. She is asked to do an awful lot for a Wilton/Wing team that struggles to consistently put points on the board, and she’s good enough to take over games by herself. She rebounds at a high level and can be counted on to score 20-plus points per game despite being just a sophomore.
