The OGBR Top 64 featured over 300 standouts, playing in front of D2, D3 and NAIA head coaches, while many more D1 coaches watched via live stream. This week – we look at many of the day’s top performers – some who you most likely already know and others who made a name for themselves on Sunday.
Regan Hubert – 5′ 7 Guard – Home Schooled – Class of 2023
Hubert is an effortless scorer with a beautiful jump shot. She has deep range from well-beyond the 3-point line, accompanying her smooth stroke. She can score the ball with her feet set or off of the bounce, getting into the toolbox and scoring from the mid-range with as much comfort as she has beyond the arc.
Brooklyn Vaughn – 5’10 Forward – Central Catholic – Class of 2024
Vaughn is the kid that everyone loves to play with. She is constantly playing hard. She runs the floor well and explodes to finish at the rim. Brooklyn sets great screens for her teammates. She is a good defender who crashes the boards hard on both ends of the floor.
Vita Vargo – 5’4 Guard – Mars Area – Class of 2025
It’s easy to watch Vita and forget that she is only an 8th grader. She is confident with the ball in her hands – a true floor general. Vargo has outstanding handles and a tremendous step-back jumper, with range well beyond a normal 3-pointer. She is strong and has no problem finishing through contact.
Brooke Nelson – 5’6 Guard – Springfield – Class of 2025
Nelson is a lefty with good length. She is smooth – rarely getting sped up and never showing frustration or signs of being flustered. A dead-eye shooter, it doesn’t take Brooke much time to get her feet set and the ball up to the rim. She has a lot of potential and should continue to develop as a player as she gets stronger.
Kailee Bransford – 5’6 Guard – Ohio Virtual Academy – Class of 2025
Bransford showed an impressive amount of skill around the rim – finishing through contact with both hands on both sides of the rim. She has a high motor with the strength and IQ to match it. Kailee plays with good instincts, consistently making the correct play with the basketball.
