As we dive into the pre-season update of the PGH Ohio state player rankings – here are some of the top “stock risers” in the Class of 2022.
[player_tooltip player_id="32614" first="Alexia" last="Mobley"] - 6’2 Wing - Reynoldsburg
Mobley - is one of the best players in Ohio (could be considered as the best depending on who you ask) and the entire United States, in the Class of 2022. She is a super-athletic wing with a skill set to match. Dynamic in transition - Alexia can score at all 3 levels - soaring above her defenders and finishing in a variety of ways. Defensively - she causes havoc all over the floor with her length and pressure D.
[player_tooltip player_id="157681" first="Jordan" last="Weir"] - 6’5 Post - GlenOak
[player_tooltip player_id="157681" first="Jordan" last="Weir"] is a relatively unknown kid in Ohio circles, but not to big-time D1 coaches. The post has really come into her own for one of the state’s most successful big-school problems in GlenOak. She is effective going to both hands with a drop step - has a nice mid-range face-up jumper and can block and alter shots with the best of them. It will be fun to see her continued development the next two years.
[player_tooltip player_id="211794" first="Trinity" last="Ramos"] - 5’5 Guard - Reynoldsburg
Ramos is a skilled lead guard who can hurt you in a number of ways. Her herky-jerky ball-handling package keeps defenders off-balance, allowing her to get to the rim - where she can finish effectively with both hands. She is a dead-eye 3-point shooter from well beyond the line, whether it be with her feet set in catch-and-shoot situations or off of the dribble creating her own shot.
[player_tooltip player_id="162140" first="Catara" last="DeJarnette"] - 5’7 Guard - Kenston
DeJarnette makes scoring the basketball look so easily. A prototype in isolation - Catara has a lightning-quick first step to go by defenders and get to the bucket - or create space for a silky-smooth mid-range jumper. At times, she is a game-changer defensively, using impressive athleticism and instincts to pressure the basketball and play passing lanes - forcing turnovers that lead into easy offense for her team.
[player_tooltip player_id="159360" first="Hannah" last="Archer"] - 5’7 Guard - Fort Frye
Archer is one of the best shooters in the Class of 2022. The combo-guard has a high IQ, rarely making mistakes with the ball in her hands. A solid ball-handler, Hannah not only is a sniper - but also makes her teammates better as a passer/playmaker. Her knowledge and demeanor make her a great team defender, as well.
