Most of the players listed here made a slight jump, but a couple have considerably raised their stock with major moves, including one who makes her PGH ranking debut at #15 after a great summer and fall season.
With a talented staff at PGH, I will just focus today on the kids in my region. Much more to come from the staff this week!
Kyla Oldacre Kyla Oldacre 6'5" | C Mason | 2022 State #42 Nation OH , 6-5 C, Mason
Kyla joins Mason after playing her first two years at Princeton, and what a player she has become. At 6’5, she is such a dominant force in the paint, she is difficult to handle. She moves well and is agile, and does a great job not only on the offensive end, but defensively she controls the rebounds and can defend by altering shots. Kyla soars up into the top ten at #9 in the latest ranking.
Macie Taylor Macie Taylor 5'7" | CG Troy | 2022 State OH , 5-8 G, Troy
What a show she put on at the PGH Top 250 Expo. She has been known as one of the state’s best every year since her freshman season when she was POY in her competitive conference, and she just keeps getting better. Has developed herself into a stronger and more conditioned player with a great off-season effort, Macie (feature photo) will score off of screens, put the ball on the floor and score against anyone. Great handles with either hand, loves to play fast north-south and has a ton of desire to win.
Hailey Unger Hailey Unger 5'7" | CG Arcanum | 2022 State OH , 5-7 SG, Arcanum
Has the prettiest jumpshot in Ohio with great form, elevates well and gets the shot off quickly. Her perimeter game has grown, she has range well out beyond the three, and can use her athleticism to get by her defender and score at the rim. Continuing to strengthen her handles, which are already solid. Loves to run the break, will find the open player with excellent court vision and improving her defense. Hailey moves up from #14 to #12 in the latest update.
Mackenzie Hurd Mackenzie Hurd 5'10" | CG Nelsonville York | 2022 State OH , 5-6 G, Nelsonville York
Made a nice jump in the latest rankings, moving from #16 to #13 in her class. A Division One player who can do anything from the guard spot. Love the way she makes the offense flow, she can score from anywhere on the court, or find her teammates for a better shot. High motor kid with a competitive streak to her. Played for Tuck Connor and Team Ohio over the summer. Watch for another big season for Mac.
Abby Wolterman Abby Wolterman 6'1" | SF Cincinnati Mount Notre Dame | 2022 State OH , 6-0 W, Cincinnati Mount Notre Dame
What a great summer Abby had. I had the chance to see her multiple times, and each time I saw her, I was more impressed. Abby debuts in the latest ranking update at #15. She has a lot of weapons to choose from, with the ability to score from the perimeter or at the rim. At 6-0, she is very versatile on the court, and can guard any position. She has very solid handles and can run the floor very well. Playing alongside the likes of Bransford and Phelia, Abby will be able to add her own dimension to a lineup that will be difficult to handle.
