Every team needs a player like Niles Miller. The forward, who plays for the New Jersey Sparks and Paul VI does a little bit of everything. She is a banger and tough defender who can score without a lot of plays being drawn up for her.
Despite a strong high school season, Katie Ledden was not well known around the Garden State. The 5-11 big guard blew up this summer, carrying the scoring load for Cardinals/Sharp. She has great size, competes on the defensive end and is an above-average shooter.
Kayla Beckford was way more aggressive this summer. Her three-point shot is money, she can play 1-4 on offense and you can tell she has been working out. She is primed for a breakout season as one of the leaders for Hudson Catholic.
After being the third wheel for St. Rose last season, Abbey Antognoli is clearly the face of the program now. She is still a pest on defense, dictates tempo on offense and has shown off more of a scoring ability while carrying the Purple Wave in the No Boyz Allowed league.
Speaking of St. Rose, Niaisya Irvin is looking like the leading candidate for the most improved player in the state category. After playing a reserve role last season, she is now being counted on to provide a scoring and playmaking punch.
