The Prep Girls Hoops Top 250 Expo was full of top talent at all levels. There was a significant amount low post players that put their talent on display. Let’s look at some of that talent and how they performed at the Top 250.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="194462" first="Kara" last="Bartels"] (2023, 6-3, Zeeland West) </strong>
<img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-209350" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/10/118_Kara-BartelsPrepHoops-2-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" />
Bartels played a very intelligent post game in Grand Rapids. She sealed her defenders which opened lanes for drivers and allowed her to snag a lot of boards. I was impressed with Brtels’ ability to run the floor in transition.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="189293" first="Faith" last="Carson"] (2023, 6-4, Buchanan) </strong>
<img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-209352" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/10/120_Faith-CarsonPrepHoops-2-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" />
Carson will be playing the game of basketball for a long time. She’s so tough to defend in the paint with the combination of footwork and strength. Carson is a solid passer and a threat in the open floor.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="138329" first="Emily" last="Dixon"] (2021, 6-1, Chippewa Valley) </strong>
<img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-209343" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/10/111_Emlily-DixonPrepHoops-2-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" />
Dixon is a defensive difference maker. She knows how to use her length to play vertically, Dixon slides over quickly to play help D in the paint.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="190712" first="Reagan" last="Greene"] (2023, 6-1, Lake Orion) </strong>
<img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-209342" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/10/109_Reagein-GreenePrepHoops-2-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" />
I’ve become a big fan of Greene since this summer. She’s seemingly never intimidated by the moment or the matchup. Greene is making a name for herself with her gritty and gutsy play down low.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147791" first="Kate" last="Jacobs"] (2022, 6-3, Hartland) </strong>
<img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-209351" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/10/119_Kate-JacobsPrepHoops-2-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" />
Jacobs was very comfortable playing with her back to the basket. She put her body into the defender and established position looking for the post entry pass. On the defensive end, Jacobs used her length to block and alter shots.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147776" first="Ella" last="Miller"] (2022, 6-1, East Lansing) </strong>
<img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-209349" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/10/117_Ella-MillerPrepHoops-2-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" />
Miller has always been known for her grit and versatility. She can definitely defend in both the post and on the perimeter. After watching her at the Top 250, I feel like her overall athleticism has flown under the radar.
<strong>Zoe Spoelman (2022, 6-2, Grand Haven) </strong>
<img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-209345" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/10/113_Zoe-SpoelmanJPGPrepHoops-2-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" />
Spoelman was always a factor on the defensive end. She played good help defense and moved quickly laterally on that end. Spoelman liked to screen on the high post and roll off the screen looking for the dish.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147748" first="Hannah" last="Toutant"] (2022, 6-1, Macomb Dakota) </strong>
<img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-209344" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/10/112_Hannah-ToutantPrepHoops-2-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" />
Toutant has a very high upside as a prospect. She battled all day to make herself a threat to score in the paint. When Toutant received a post feed, she wasted no time aggressively going to the rim.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147717" first="Madisen" last="Wardell"] (2022, 6-1, Detroit Edison)</strong>
<img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-209347" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2020/10/115_Madison-WardellPrepHoops-2-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" />
Wardell did it all in Grand Rapids, so it seems right to put her in this article. She simply played all over the floor from the perimeter to the paint. Wardell is a flat out difference maker from anywhere.
