<strong>Youtube Evals Class of 2023: Part 1 </strong> By Michael Wholey 10/28/20 5:00 PM EST <strong><em>In the COVID-19 2020 world we are living in, video and highlight films have become more and more prominent and important.  We will be posting evaluations from the videos weekly.  In </em>Youtube Evals Class of 2023: Part 1 we take a look at some of the states 2023 prospects.  </strong> &nbsp; <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="166174" first="Maia" last="Lewers"] (Brooks DeBartolo Collegiate / Tampa Thunder) </strong> High IQ, 5’5 point guard who does a great job of finding the open player creating shots for her teammates and being around the ball on the defensive end.  Her 3 is a little bit of a set shot that needs some time to get off but she is extremely accurate and shoots high percentage.  Does a good job running the floor in transition and getting out in her lane for easy buckets. https://youtu.be/u4003ziggq8 &nbsp; <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91640" first="Emily" last="Montes"] (Palmer Trinity / Team Knight) </strong> Big, scoring guard who is deadly from 3 and has excellent court vision and basketball IQ.  She is a deadly offensive player who is on “go mode” at all times.  Do not leave her open as she can knock it down from anywhere.  She loves to be in attack mode and plays down hill in transition looking to break down her opponent off the dribble and get to the rim.  Plays with a ton of competitive spirit and fire and wants to win every game!  Her game has evolved over the past year becoming a more complete offensive player and her speed and athleticism have also improved.  She has a chance to be a special player. <strong> </strong> &nbsp; https://youtu.be/2wRBOd0-T74 &nbsp; <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="219939" first="Arianna" last="Mosley"] (Tampa Prep / Tampa Thunder)</strong> Raw, athletic/ long wing! Her strength is her length and athleticism.  If her offensive skill catches up with these two traits, she is going to be dangerous! Plays hard and aggressively on the defensive end consistently throughout the game.  Capable 3-point shooter but more dangerous shot faking and putting the ball to the floor attacking the rim.  A ton of untapped potential especially with the way she competes and plays hard every possession! https://youtu.be/AVgimTyXZmA &nbsp; <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="219940" first="Jamesia" last="Prue"] (SLAM! (Miami) / Miami Suns) </strong> Raw, wing forward who can get to the rim as well as shoot the 3.  Her length and wing span allow her to be a disruptive defender blocking shots, getting deflections, and running through passing lanes for steals.   Her offensive game is still raw as she needs to get stronger and play harder with more energy but she has a ton of potential.  She has to be more aggressive attacking the rim and not settle for 3s as much but this will come with playing more and against tougher competition.  Keep an eye on Jamesia! Her best basketball is yet to come. https://youtu.be/wvGF49RqEQ8 &nbsp; <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="91603" first="Tahnyjia" last="Purifoy"] (Pine Forest / FGB) </strong> Small, aggressive point guard who plays like the ball is on a string.  Confidence is not lacking as she loves the big stage and is not afraid of the big shot.  She is dangerous off the dribble changing speeds and getting her defender out of her stance and blowing by her but she loves to lull her defender to sleep and pull up from 3! Typically her teams emotional and vocal leader serving as a coach on the floor. Video by <a href="https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRlo7mxn1KbubosOlxDsbtQ">Vision Hoops</a>. https://youtu.be/QWnKKIkPyQY &nbsp; <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="166161" first="Ava" last="Stoller"] (St Petersburg HS / Tampa Thunder)</strong> Scrappy young guard who plays fearlessly.  She can knock it down from 3 but her go to move is a shot fake, one dribble pull up or a floater in the paint.  She is feisty on the defensive end, playing tight man to man defense with ball pressure.  She is a hustle player who is the first to dive on the floor.  Plays very unselfish constantly finding the open player for an easier shot.
