It has been quite the decade for Indianola, as the program has won over 20 games three times and at least 12 in five other seasons including last year. Junior [player_tooltip player_id="63599" first="Lauren" last="Blake"] returns after leading the team in scoring and rebounding, averaging almost 16 and five a night. She shot nearly 42 percent from the field and made over 34 percent of her three-point attempts. [player_tooltip player_id="63619" first="Mara" last="Bishop"], also a junior, paced Indianola with 88 assists as they captured the Little Hawkeye Conference title. Just one player graduates from that team with starters [player_tooltip player_id="127620" first="Emily" last="Naughton"], [player_tooltip player_id="164940" first="Kendall" last="Clatt"] and Emma Kluver also back.

Scoring was at a premium for Interstate 35 a year ago, and with leading scorer Jaliyah White gone due to graduation, the Roadrunners will need some new players to put the basket in the hoop. Kaitlyn Morris and Cali Garner were staples in the starting lineup as underclassmen. Both had over 50 rebounds, 20 assists and 20 steals. Morris also scored 119 points, shooting over 41 percent from the field.

One of the highest scoring teams in the state last season, Iowa City High posted nearly 72 points a night. The Little Hawks high-octane offense to make a run to the Class 5A state semifinals before coming up short vs. Johnston. They will have a new look this year, though, as [player_tooltip player_id="134991" first="Aubrey" last="Joens"] has moved on along with [player_tooltip player_id="133830" first="Rose" last="Nkumu"] and others. [player_tooltip player_id="131177" first="Ella" last="Cook"], a senior, returns after leading the team with 159 rebounds. [player_tooltip player_id="129019" first="Eviyon" last="Richardson"] should be poised for a big junior season after she made nearly 44 percent of her field goals, sank 12 three-pointers and grabbed 138 rebounds. [player_tooltip player_id="63032" first="Kelsey" last="Joens"] will also take on a much larger role for the Little Hawks.
