Here’s a look at some additional players who took part in the event who could see their stock rise.
1. Rosalie Avalos – La Serna 2021
One of the top aspects of Avalos’ game is her defense. She’s a good wing defender with quick hands who creates turnovers that lead to fast break opportunities. She applies strong pressure and reads the passing lanes well. Offensively, she can do a little bit of everything. She can handle the ball and she has great vision to find open teammates. She can play on the wing or in the paint. She has a solid three-point shot and she can slash to the rim.
2. Aliyah Gonzalez – Troy 2022
Gonzalez is another strong defensive wing who gets out in transition. She plays both solid on ball defense and help defense. Pressures the ball-handler at midcourt and in the backcourt. She can handle the ball on the break and she keeps her head up to find open teammates. She can also go coast to coast all the way the rim. She’s a good three-point shooter; she sets her feet well, gets open, and can shoot with defenders rushing at her.
3. Leah Saynes – Santa Fe 2022
Saynes is a very quick guard and strong ball-handler. She can get to her spots in the court easily and is a blur in transition. She’s got a good outside shot with a very quick release. She’s real comfortable with the ball in her hands and she can slash her way through the defense. She’s a good defender in transition; she can chase down the ball-handler and prevent an easy two. She’s got some nice spin moves and soft little runner.
4. Larissa Robles – Sonora 2023
Robles is pretty good 3&D player. She’s a lights out shooter from deep. She does a good job of moving without the ball and getting herself open on the perimeter. She knocks down threes with confidence and consistency. Squares up and lets it fly. Can also take a couple dribbles in and shoot from midrange. She’s a good on ball defender. She sliders her feet well and keeps up with the ball-handler; forces them into passes.
