Ebele Mbagwu- 2023, PG & SG, #15, Captain, Stockdale High School (Bakersfield, CA)
Ebele Mbagwu is one of the fastest and quickest players on the court. She uses her quickness to her advantage. Ebele can dribble past any player at any speed. Ebele has great ball-handling, and she dribbles so fast that it’s almost impossible for a defender to keep up with her. She is not a very tall player, but still finds a way to score every time. She averaged 16.3 PPG and scored a total of 407 points during her freshman season at Stockdale High School. Ebele really stands out above the crow, she has to be aggressive especially with her height. She has a great floater shot and can score a layup with pressure on her back. One major move she uses a lot is the euro step, and she utilizes it very well. Shows how confident of a player she is. I think that Ebele can be stronger, she can build up her strength over the years, Overall, she is a very good player who is confident in her abilities.
Andrea Stajic- 2022, 6’0”, Guard, #12, Arroyo Grande High School (Arroyo Grande, CA)
First off, I’ll say she is an amazing three-point shooter. Andrea Stajic has a great shooting form and can shoot from anywhere on the court. Andrea is always keeping her follow-through throughout her shot. Stajic scores a bunch of hers hots off three-pointers. Watching her hoot is like watching a movie, it is very entertaining. She can create space for herself and has no issue scoring with a defender in her face. Andrea averaged 16.3 PPG and scored a total of 245 points during her sophomore season. She also averaged 67% from the free-throw line. Her height gives her a big advantage compared to other players. She makes for a great guard position. Andrea is also amazing on defense, she works really hard to get steals left and right. Once she gets steals, she has no issue taking it downtown to score on her own. Overall, Andrea is a very aggressive player with a high basketball IQ. Her skill set is good enough to play at a competitive level.
Corin Camara- 2021, 5’11”, Guard, #4, Hanford High School (Hanford, CA)
Corin Camara of Hanford High School is a very athletic player. She has the ability to score on the fast break easily without any issue. She is very fast and has great ball-handling skills. She is especially good dribbling at full-speed. Very controlled, and calm under pressure. Her shooting form is phenomenal. It’s very quick and difficult to guard. Corin averaged 14.6 PPG, and scored a total of 394 points during her sophomore season. Corin had an average of 4.0 RPG, and 1.9 SPG. She also averaged 83% from the free-throw line. Averaging over 70% is always a good sign of a great shooter. Her team had an amazing league record of 10-0 during the 2019-2020 season. She has a great right-hand finish when scoring a lay-up. She is very aggressive off the dribble, which proves she can score with any defender on her. Her basketball IQ is very high, and she makes very smart decisions when she has the ball. Overall, Camara is a very smart player that has the ability to play at the collegiate level.
Kaiya Ellison- 2021, 5’8”, Guard, #25, Arroyo Grande High School (Arroyo Grande, CA)
Kaiya possesses lots of talent and shows it in her gameplay. She is very fast and plays with tenacity. Ellison plays great defense, and defense to me is very important. She has quick hands, and that makes it easier for her to steal the ball from her opponent. She is very smart on defense and doesn’t seem to foul very often. She plays alongside teammate Andrea Stajic, and together they control their squad. Both are very skilled and have great shooting forms. Kaiya’s shooting is fantastic, she has a great follow through and can score a jump shot from any spot around the 3 point perimeter. They accumulate a lot of points together. Kaiya averaged 13.4 PPG and scored a total of 322 points during the 2019-2020 seasons. She also averaged 76% from the free-throw line. As I have said before, making free throws is a very important skill to possess in basketball. They are basically free shots. I admire players who can make their free-throws. Ellison shows lots of potential on the court, and I can definitely see her playing at the college level.
