West Bend West finished first in conference play last season with a 16-2 record. The team was led by graduate forward, First Team and Player of the Year select [player_tooltip player_id="132426" first="Maddison" last="Baker"]. She was accompanied by [player_tooltip player_id="30542" first="Aaliyah" last="Moore"] who earned Third Team as a senior last season. Ellie Meurer will be a senior this season for West Bend West.
Slinger finished second in conference play with a 15-3 record. The team was led by then senior standout [player_tooltip player_id="132446" first="Anna" last="Breuer"]. This year, Third Team select Samantha Gueller will play a much larger role for her squad. The 5’10 guard averaged 8 points per game and has a super versatile game. She will play alongside fellow senior Kate Hosking. Hosking earned Honorable Mention last season while averaging 2.2 assists and 6.7 points per game.
Homestead finished third in conference with a 14-4 overall record. The team was led by graduate [player_tooltip player_id="132444" first="Grace" last="Mueller"]. Though she will be a force missed on the offensive end, senior [player_tooltip player_id="155776" first="Khendel" last="Rolison"] will be the impact player this season. A fierce guard that can score at all three levels, Rolision can consistently put up big numbers. Sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id="156098" first="Delaney" last="Buzzell"] will play a big role as well. As a freshman she earned Third Team.
Hartford finished wit6h a 11-7 record and was led by First Team select and senior guard [player_tooltip player_id="155769" first="Maci" last="Meyer"]. After a huge summer with Flight Elite, Hartford will be looked at to contribute big minutes for this squad. She’s an athletic guard with tremendous footwork on the floor- tough to stop. Becca Stoeckman will be a returning standout as well- she averaged 7.4 points per game and dished out 2 assists per game.
Below are some players who are posed to make an impact this season.
Khendel Rolision | Homestead | Senior | 5’8 G
Rolision averaged nearly 12 points per game and made 32 three point baskets last season. She has such high potential and is clearly so athletic on the floor. A great feel for the game, Rolision’s shot selection is composed and smart. She doesn’t force anything on either end and knows how to get herself and her teammates open. A playmaker with fantastic court vision as well, Rolision dished out 3 assists per game last season. A defensive powerhouse for Homestead, the senior grabbed over 80 steals last season. Look for her to keep her confidence high from last season and be crafty on defense again.
Claire Diener | Cedarburg | Junior | 5’8 G
Diener led her team in both scoring and rebounding last season. She averaged 15 points per game and 7 rebounds. I’m impressed by Dieners great change of pace and ability to play with poise and flare. She’s a crafty guard that can put up big numbers if given the green light. She has sneaky athleticism and quickness that allow her to catch lazy defenders off guard and finish by attacking the rim.
[player_tooltip player_id="155769" first="Maci" last="Meyer"] | Hartford | Senior | 5’11 G
The standout guard is a fantastic playmaker and an offensive threat that is very hard to defend. Last season she finished first in scoring with 14.2 points per game. She’s a sniper from behind the arc- mostly off the catch but she can create her own shot as well. Her pull up from the top of the key was lethal over the summer so look for that to carry over to her senior campaign. She knocked down nearly 50 three point baskets as a junior. A defensive threat as well, Meyer has quick feet and active hands. She can guard the fastest player on the opposing team and still be effective on the other end.
Mallory Hointink | Slinger | Sophomore | 5’10 G
Hointink is a highly athletic guard that plays with energy and intensity. She is vocal on the court and takes matchups personally. Her competitive edge is extremely noticeable on the court; she takes pride in pressuring her opponent defensively. She is a beast in the open court where she can get out and push the ball- she works well in a fast-paced system where she is free to be crafty and can attack at any moment. Her long strides also give her an advantage in transition. She averaged 6.8 points per game last season and knocked down 23 three point baskets.
Ellie Meurer | West Bend West | Senior | 5’11 G
Meurer played some big minutes last season and will be looked for to make an even larger splash this season. She averaged 6.5 points per game and knocked down 35 three point baskets. She moves well without the ball, cuts hard and creates space off the screen. Meurer has great positional size and her ability to handle the ball as well as grab boards makes her such a special player.
