Many of the top players in the state of Iowa gathered at Kingdom Hoops for the Prep Girls Hoops Iowa Top 250 Expo in October.
Games featured intense play throughout with athletes getting the opportunity to showcase themselves in front of college scouts while preparing for the start of the upcoming 2020-21 basketball season.
With so many changes hitting due to the novel coronavirus, including many summer camps and tournaments being scrapped, the Prep Girls Hoops Iowa Top 250 Expo provided those players with a great chance.
We will be offering up a recap from each game of the expo.

Even as a freshman last year, it was quite evident [player_tooltip player_id="160552" first="Anna" last="Prouty"] was ready to contribute. The Class of 2023 prospect played in 20 games for Iowa City West, shooting over 45 percent from the field with 64 rebounds.
Prouty has continued to work on her defense over the summer, showing quick hands in knocking the ball loose. She also does an excellent job of fronting her opponent at just under 6-foot-tall.

Central DeWitt gave [player_tooltip player_id="128999" first="Allie" last="Meadows"] a chance to showcase herself last winter, and the Class of 2022 sharpshooter only continues to make them look smart. Meadows scored 339 points as a sophomore with 65 rebounds, 52 assists and 51 steals, making nearly 30 percent of her three-point attempts.
Meadows does a tremendous job of finishing at the rim through contact and is also smooth with the basketball in her hands. She has continued to work on her mid-range jumper and has a nice mix of a variety of shots in her arsenal.

A regular in the starting lineup for MMCRU last winter, [player_tooltip player_id="129081" first="Taylor" last="Harpenau"] shined, scoring 349 points with 84 rebounds, 78 assists and 71 steals. She shot over 42 percent from the field and buried 26 three-pointers.
The Class of 2022 Harpenau has a quick shot release and great delivery. She can definitely light up the scoreboard in a matter of possessions.

When you suit up as a freshman at Ankeny Centennial, it is obvious the talent is there. [player_tooltip player_id="63017" first="Makenna" last="Clark"] played in 15 games last year for the Jaguars, producing 20 points with seven steals, six rebounds and four assists.
The Class of 2023 Clark has continued to work on her overall shooting, developing a very deadly mid-range game.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="127622" first="Halli" last="Poock"], Waterloo West (2023)</strong>
Expectations are very high for Waterloo West thanks in large part to the continued progress of [player_tooltip player_id="127622" first="Halli" last="Poock"]. The Class of 2023 standout accounted for a team-high 473 points last year, shooting over 50 percent from the field with 47 made three-pointers.
Poock, who can knock down her shot from anywhere on the court, also had 95 assists, 92 rebounds and 90 steals. Her shot is nearly unblockable as it comes off at a very high angle and release.

<strong>Kendall McDaniel, Indianola (2024)</strong>
With a large amount of players set to return, Indianola should be primed for a big season with the added addition of Kendall McDaniel. The Class of 2024 prospect stands 6-foot-2 and offers tremendous size inside the paint.
McDaniel also has a great ability to make the entry pass from around the perimeter.

As a freshman last year, [player_tooltip player_id="63021" first="Bryar" last="Duwe"] took the ball and shot it, scoring 282 points with 80 rebounds, 47 assists and 42 steals for Decorah. She knocked down 40 percent of her attempts and sank 28 three-pointers.
Duwe, a Class of 2023 prospect, is able to get her shot off fast from anywhere with a quick release. Her speed also allows her to get by opposing defenders.

The talents of [player_tooltip player_id="127613" first="Jaeden" last="Ferris"] were noticed straightaway last year, as the Westwood prospect scored 325 points to lead her team as a freshman. Ferris made 44 percent of her attempts and 43 percent of her three-point shots, adding 99 assists, 75 rebounds and 40 steals.
The Class of 2023 Ferris is an excellent long-range shooter with big-time range. She is also smart on the court, always tracking down the ball after putting it up.

Sibley-Ocheyedan has a standout in [player_tooltip player_id="160559" first="Bria" last="Wasmund"], as the Class of 2023 prospect accounted for 282 points with 103 assists, 84 rebounds, 63 steals and even eight blocked shots. She knocked down 35 three-pointers and was solid in all areas.
Despite not being tall, Wasmund does a tremendous job of finding the loose ball and getting out in the open court.
