Greater Metro Conference: Preview Last season the conference was led by Germantown who finished with a 15-1 record. The team was led by [player_tooltip player_id="155940" first="Kamorea" last="Arnold"]. Arnold is a sophomore this year for Germantown and is expected to put on an even bigger show this season. She earned First Team last season and is ranked number one in her state for her class. She will be joined by junior guard [player_tooltip player_id="204134" first="Emilie" last="Wizner"] who showed glimpses last season of how elite she can be. While averaging nearly 5 points per game on this top ranked team, Wizner’s ability to knock down the three point basket and have patience within the offense make her a talented player. DSHA finished conference play with a 14-2 record. The team was led by Second Team selection [player_tooltip player_id="155773" first="Alexa" last="Jarecki"] who is a senior this year. Look for DSHA to make a huge push this season as they have multiple underclassmen who can contribute impact minutes as well. Freshman [player_tooltip player_id="207069" first="Ally" last="Timm"] joins DSHA, a knock down three point shooter and scoring mentality guard, she will be a huge asset to this squad. Brookfield Central finished with an 11-5 record last season. [player_tooltip player_id="155772" first="CJ" last="Romero"] of Brookfield Central will be key to the team’s success this season. A scrappy point guard with tremendous court vision, expect Romero to be a distributing machine this season. The senior and Northern Michigan commit will work tremendously next to junior forward Ellie Coraggio. She earned Honorable Mention during her sophomore season. The rest of the conference consists of Brookfield East, Sussex Hamilton, Menomonee Falls, Wauwatosa West, West Allis Hale and Wauwatosa East. Take a look at a few players who are returning this season and posed to make an impact. Kamora Arnold | Germantown | Sophomore | 5’9 PG Arnold finished third in the conference last year in scoring. She averaged 17 points per game. Her stat line all across the board is insanely impressive- Arnold is the top player in the state and has the numbers to prove it. She can score at any spot on the floor and has a crafty bag of finishing moves. Arnold will knock down the perimeter shot if left open as well. A passing machine, Arnold averaged 5 assists per game. Her court vision is scary good- she threads the needle with her passes and She’s a shifty point guard that has an impressive ability to change speed and get to the basket. She finished strong against contact and does well drawing the foul. Ellie Coraggio | Brookfield Central | Junior | 5’11 F Coraggio consistently put up nice numbers for her team last season. She is comfortable under pressure and can be super versatile on both ends. Coraggio really stands out for her ability to guard inside and out, her footwork is elite and she’s strong enough to be intimidating in the lane. Last season as a sophomore, she averaged 9 points per game and 5 rebounds. Most impressive would be Coraggio’s ability to alter a shot and a pass, she averaged 1.2 steals per game last season. Look for her to rack up some blocked shots during her junior campaign. [player_tooltip player_id="156068" first="Payton" last="Rechlicz"] | Menomonee Falls | Sophomore | 5’8 G A relentless athlete who will take on a large load this season, Rechlicz is so skilled and sound on the floor. As a freshman she averaged nearly 10 points per game. She’s consistent on defense and has great footwork to alter passes and shots. She chases down all loose boards and really understands the flow of the game. She’s hungry for success and it shows in her ability to play big minutes and give 110%. She will knock the three point shot as well and hopefully is confident to take more risks on the three this season. As a freshman she made 27 three point baskets. [player_tooltip player_id="132350" first="Chloe" last="Dallas"] | Wauwatosa East | Senior | 6’2 F Dallas is such an impressive post player with so much upside. She’s beyond difficult to stop in the paint and oozes with confidence when she has the ball. She’s improved so much of her game and is really such a threat on both ends. She’s an intimidating factor in the lane- causing teams to result in shooting perimeter shots instead of possibly being blocked in the lane. Look for Dallas to control the offense this season and really create for herself. Last season she averaged 16.6 points per game. [player_tooltip player_id="156077" first="Annika" last="Pluemer"] | Brookfield East | Sophomore | 5’8 G A scorers mentality type player- Pluemer is so tough to stop when she gets rolling. A fierce guard who understands the game well, Pluemer is so gifted offensively. As a freshman she averaged 10.3 points per game. Her movement with and without the ball makes her a special player- she doesn’t force anything but knows how to use her teammates to get open and create a meaningful shot. Unafraid to hit the three point shot as well, Pluemer made nearly 30 last season. Pluemer is an incredible defender and other teams are going to have big trouble when she is in the game- she will certainly guard the opposing teams best player the entire game, she is that effective! Look for her to play inside and out as well as she’s strong enough to move some boys in the lane. [player_tooltip player_id="202310" first="Olivia" last="Bree"] | Wauwatosa West | Senior | 6’0 F Bree is going to have to be a leader all around the board for this team to be successful this season. She seems to have a high basketball IQ and really runs the show when she’s on the floor. Her confidence is high and she has great technical skills. She can rebound the ball so well and is certainly one of the most impressive offensive rebounders in her class. Last season she averaged nearly 7 points per game. Impactful in the paint as well, Bree averaged 8.6 points per game last season.
