Youtube Evals Class of 2022: Part 1 By Michael Wholey 11/1/20 5:00 PM EST In the COVID-19 2020 world we are living in, video and highlight films have become more and more prominent and important.  We will be posting evaluations from the videos weekly.  In Youtube Evals Class of 2022: Part 1 we take a look at some of the states 2022 prospects.    Katie Ambrose Katie Ambrose 5'5" | PG Gulf Coast | 2022 State FL (Gulf Coast HS / Tampa Thunder) Ambrose has put out multiple videos throughout the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 and it is easy to see from watching these videos she has a big-time work ethic, strong desire to get better, and is a competitor! These highlights are her Sophomore season at Gulf Coast High School where she is their do it all point guard, floor leader and an extension of the coach on the floor.  She is a high IQ, skilled guard with savvy handle, excellent court vision, and a great decision maker.  Her ability to pass with both the left and right hand really stands out.  She has three point range as well as a mid-range pull up and is not afraid of the big shot.  She gets all her teammates involved and almost always find the open player.  She plays super hard on both ends of the floor and does a good job changing speeds/direction and using her body vs aggressive and more athletic defenders.   Mia Avin Mia Avin 5'5" | PG Archbishop McCarthy | 2022 State FL (Archbishop McCarthy HS / Miami Suns) Big, strong combo guard who can play the 1 and the 2.  She is an aggressive, penetrating guard that attacks the rim with her right hand consistently in the half court and in transition.  She loves to play in transition and pushes the ball in attack mode to get a layup or create one for her teammate.  She is a solid 3-point shooter and always makes the extra pass to the open player.   Jada Beneby Jada Beneby 5'5" | CG Miami Killian | 2022 State FL (Miami Killian Senior HS) Craft point guard with good handles.  She does a good job changing speed and direction to get by her defender.  Her go-to move is the right handed inside out into a pull up 3.  Her ball handling and scoring ability are her two biggest strengths and she plays with a ton of confidence with the ball in her hands.  She is most dangerous in the open court in transition.  Defensively she is active running through passing lanes and getting tips and deflections.  She does a good job as an on ball defender giving ball pressure.   Kamryn Bullock Kamryn Bullock 5'10" | SF East River | 2022 State FL (East River High School / Hoop Dreams Elite) 5’11 Wing/Forward with 3 point range.  Her length impacts the game as she is an effective shot blocker and she can lock up perimeter players using her wing span.  She really stretches the floor with her 3 point range for her travel team Hoop Dreams Elite.  She is a good passer as well, finding her teammates at the rim for layups and kicking for open 3s.   Brandee Bennett-Clark (Winter Springs HS / Orlando Basketball Club) Aggressive, strong, raw 5’11 forward.  She is mainly playing as an undersized 5 and is not afraid to mix it up and throw her weight around.  She is right hand dominant and most effective 5 feet and in.  Runs the floor hard, works hard on both ends of the floor and is an effective rebounder.   Jaela Davis Jaela Davis 5'7" | CG Brooks DeBartolo | 2022 State FL (Brooks DeBartolo / Tampa Thunder) Her highlight video starts off her taking TWO CHARGES! How can you not like a kid like that and want her on your team?? She is a 5’7 shooting guard who really gets after it on the defensive end laying her body on the floor and getting after opposing teams ball handlers.  If she has the ball in the open court on the offense end she is in attack mode and does a great job getting into the paint for a layup or a dump pass to a teammate for an easy bucket.  She is crafty around the rim and has a nice spin move and can finish with both her left and right hand.  Has a nice stutter step, change of speed move to keep her defenders off balance and can knock down the open 3 as well as a 1-2 dribble pull up.   Joey Delancy Joey Delancy 5'8" | CG American Heritage-Plantation | 2022 State FL (American Heritage Plantation / Miami Suns) Joey is a strong, versatile guard/wing that can play 1-3.  She is a skilled player who has excellent court vision and a high basketball IQ.  She can handle the ball, shoot the 3 and is a good passer who gives the ball up to open teammates freely.  She finishes well at the rim with both her left and right hands and her build allows her to take contact and still finish often getting opportunities for And-1s.  Video by @UncleDrewProductions.   Etaria Gibbons Etaria Gibbons 6'0" | SF Northeast-Oakland Park | 2022 State FL (Northeast / Miami Suns) 6’2 raw, athletic forward.  She is a workhorse who controls the pain as a shot blocker, rebounder, and interior presence.  Finishes well at the rim with both the left and right hand.  Her offensive game is a bit unpolished at this point but her potential is through the roof and with her length, athleticism, strong work ethic, and energy she is a very intriguing prospect.  Her game has developed quite a bit in the last 2 years and it will be exciting to see how it continues to progress over her final two years of high school.   If you have a highlight film on youtube send to us directly at WholeyPrepHoops@gmail.com or DM on twitter at @WholeyPrepHoops.  We are working hard to make the @SUTSReport Youtube channel a main source for college coaches.
