Final: NW Stars Navy 38 - PHH 52
NW Stars Navy played a tremendous opponent in PHH on Sunday at Session VI of “The Bubble” as they were tested against the talented prep school based out of Phoenix, AZ. The NW Stars’ efforts began on a [player_tooltip player_id="158545" first="Rhyan" last="Mogel"] drive followed by a [player_tooltip player_id="158542" first="Kennedie" last="Shuler"] find on a cutting Jazzy Davidson. Davidson followed by a nice isolation drive with a left-handed finish. Shuler found [player_tooltip player_id="158489" first="Truitt" last="Reilly"] in a nice pick and roll feed. An [player_tooltip player_id="158553" first="Allie" last="Mead"] steal and find to [player_tooltip player_id="207819" first="Carly" last="Stone"] for a triple put the Stars up 14-13. From there it was a back and forth battle as the team teams switched between leads.
[player_tooltip player_id="158542" first="Kennedie" last="Shuler"] found [player_tooltip player_id="158517" first="Halle" last="Hageman"] around the rim as Jazzy Davidson and [player_tooltip player_id="158542" first="Kennedie" last="Shuler"] played give and go. Shuler found [player_tooltip player_id="158545" first="Rhyan" last="Mogel"] in stride going towards the rim. Hageman hit Davidson in transition as the two teams went into halftime tied at 22. The second half commenced with a Mogel dribble drive as Hageman stole the ball and took it coast to coast to the rim. A technical would allow [player_tooltip player_id="158517" first="Halle" last="Hageman"] to sink two free-throws to make it 28-29 in favor of PHH. Skoro would find Mogel for a score as Hageman would fire a pass into an open [player_tooltip player_id="158553" first="Allie" last="Mead"] at the rim.
Shuler would score an isolation bucket as [player_tooltip player_id="158489" first="Truitt" last="Reilly"] would get a board and bucket, as they would trail 38-39. However, the Stars would not score for the remainder of the game as they ultimately lost 38-52 - but to a tremendous team in that of PHH - but not without some outstanding individual performances from their star studded cast.

Breakdown:
Shuler the Facilitator
[player_tooltip player_id="158542" first="Kennedie" last="Shuler"] is a polished floor general with a tremendous feel for the game as she can slow the game down in the fast paced transition setting, but also speed it up during the half-court style. She made it her duty to set up her teammates in a masterful display of passing, as she has a knack for finding others by attacking the rim and dishing it off when all of the defense’s attention is allocated towards her. She finished with a team high 5 assists, as with the ball she is a constant threat with the ability to slow the game in her mind and find others at the right time.
Hageman the Showstopper
[player_tooltip player_id="158517" first="Halle" last="Hageman"] excels in the transition as an engaging ball handler with the ability to get her team points in a hurry as she takes advantage of the lack of a structured defense on the other end. She was the reason for several easy scores in this manner as she has a talent for setting her teammates up in this regard. She is also a great rebounder who is always around the action when the ball is up in the air and also a seasoned defender who is activated and enabled as a two way player. Her 6 points, 4 rebound, 2 assist, 2 steal performance was very telling of her ability to affect the game in a myriad of ways.
Strong Supporting Cast
Jazzy Davidson was the eclectic scorer we have all come to know, as her length and wingspan allow for a number of highly skilled scores in the paint as she is able to score and get a lot of creative shots off based on these characteristics alone. [player_tooltip player_id="158545" first="Rhyan" last="Mogel"] was a tough guard who showed quite a bit of offensive versatility in her 8 point, 5 rebound, 2 steal effort. She can take smaller defenders in the low-post and as usual has an uncanny ability to get to the rim and finish with strength. [player_tooltip player_id="158489" first="Truitt" last="Reilly"] provided as a tough interior player with a 6 point, 9 rebound performance - as she has become a two way staple for the NW Stars as a scorer and rebounder in the paint who plays with a lot of effort and discipline.
