With the season not starting until January (at the earliest) there are plenty of Kentucky Seniors still looking for a home at the next level. Here’s a look at some of Kentucky’s best unsigned post players.
[player_tooltip player_id="36208" first="Ella" last="Thompson"], Bethlehem - Ella has offers from Lindsey Wilson and Georgetown College but she would be a steal at that level as she should definitely be getting looked at by high D2 schools as well as low D1s. A true inside-out threat, Thompson is in the mix for Miss Basketball this season and should be talked about among the best players in the state.
[player_tooltip player_id="88425" first="Kelsie" last="Woodard"], Menifee County - A high academic player who is also a beast on the court, Woodard holds some scholarship offers already but with her size and skill level, she should be on the recruiting list for some low D1 schools. Kelsie can score the ball all over the court but her low post game is advanced and she could be a really good stretch 4 or face up 5 at the next level.
[player_tooltip player_id="154516" first="Lucy" last="Patterson"], Warren East - If you’re looking for a player who is "slept on", look no further than the Senior leader for the Lady Raiders. A multi-sport athlete, Lucy is an athletic forward who is strong and a great finisher around the rim and a really good rebounder. She has already racked up several offers and should be on the radar for every in-state school.
[player_tooltip player_id="88420" first="Trinity" last="McGee"], Christian County - Once upon a time, Trinity was our top ranked player in the class. Over the last 2 years, McGee has gone through underwhelming seasons and an injury that limited her to 6 games last season. If she’s back to 100%, then Trinity is going to be back in the discussion for being a top player in the state.
[player_tooltip player_id="88444" first="Jayden" last="Crist"], Ryle - Ryle is an undersized post who probably should be a small forward, position-wise. She has added a bunch of offers over the past calendar year or so and will have a much bigger role as a Senior. A definite X factor for the defending state champs, Crist will sign somewhere in the spring. The only question is which level she will sign at.
