We want to offer up thoughts and highlight those players from each class and each grade level some publicity to try and help them gain the attention of a college coach or two.

Addy Johnson, Westwood (2024)
Points and rebounds are not difficult to come by for Westwood freshman Addy Johnson. The talented newcomer leads all Class 1A players in her graduating class in both categories with 173 points and 102 rebounds.
Johnson has a knack for pulling down the loose ball on both ends as evident by her 33 offensive boards. She also has 18 blocks, tops among players from the Class of 2024 in 1A, to go along with 11 steals and nine assists.
Erica Houge, Collins-Maxwell (2024)
The name “Houge” has played a huge role in sports at Collins-Maxwell over the years and Class of 2024 prospect Erica Houge is the next to follow that trend. She has scored 123 points with 53 rebounds, 29 steals and 18 assists in just 10 games this year.
Houge is a perfect compliment alongside senior Reagan Franzen Reagan Franzen 5'11" | PF Collins-Maxwell | 2021 State IA and junior Alexis Houge Alexis Houge 5'7" | SG Collins-Maxwell | 2022 State IA for the Spartans, who are off to another strong start.
Izzy Weldon, Fremont-Mills (2024)
The results have been mostly positive for Fremont-Mills in the early going, and some of that credit belongs to Izzy Weldon. The freshman leads the team with 81 points, shooting almost 48 percent from the field.
Weldon also has picked up 33 assists with 19 steals and is helping out in terms of crashing the boards, as well.
Eva Steffensen, CAM (2024)
A nice swing player who can handle several positions for CAM is Class of 2024 standout Eva Steffensen. In helping her team to an unbeaten start, Steffenson is scoring 12 points per game on 47 percent shooting from the floor and 28 percent from the 3-point line.
She also has dished out 20 assists with 23 rebounds and 23 steals on the year. adding in six blocked shots.
Whitney Jensen, Remsen St. Mary’s (2024)
Through seven games, Whitney Jensen and several of her fellow freshmen have led Remsen St. Mary’s on the hardwood. Jensen has scored 77 points with 45 rebounds, 34 steals and 23 assists.
Joining Jensen in the regular rotation for Remsen St. Mary’s has been classmates Mya Bunkers and Carmindee Ricke. The Hawks put together a five-game win streak in December, scoring over 70 points three times during that stretch.
