Cloverbelt- West: Altoona, Cadott, Fall Creek, McDonnell Central, Osseo- Fairchild, Regis, Standley- Boyd, Thorp.
Jada Kowalczyk | Cadott | 5’10 Senior
The senior is leading the Cloverbelt West conference in scoring this season and has had some terrific performances so far this season She is averaging nearly 22 points per game. She’s a strong and dominant player who does so well scoring in the lane. She knows how to control her body and is balanced when attacking the rim. She uses her height to her advantage while rarely fouling or taking the bad shot. She’s been a key rebounder as well and is comfortable scoring in transition play. In a win over Glenwood City, the senior dropped a season-high 27 points for Cadott.
Jenna Kibbel | Columbus Catholic | 5’8 Sophomore
A dominant post player who has had to make up for height with her strength, Kibbel does well while being undersized. She is frazzled by taller defenders and seems to really embrace the challenge on both ends of the floor. This season she’s shown impressive ability to score on the block and has a smooth touch on the ball. She is averaging 8 points per game and could easily be a spark plug scorer and rebounder down the road this season. Kibbel is confident on the floor and seems to work well in multiple offensive sets. In a win over Colby, Kibbel finished with 14 points.
Lily Hoel | Stanley Boyd | 5’11 Junior
Hoel has been impressive with her ability to remain consistent so far this season. She’s been a key part of this team and shown glimpses of how much impact she can have on both ends. Offensively, Hoel is averaging nearly 17 points per game for Stanley Boyd. In a win over Cadott, Hoel finished with 27 points. She is comfortable shooting off the dribble near the perimeter and has clean form on her mid lane jumper. Her effortless release and scoring mentality will translate well to the next level.
Lexi Nernberger | Owen- Withee | 5’7 Senior
The senior is another player who has been undersized the majority of her career but has really risen to the challenge on both ends of the floor. She has the ability to score at all three levels and is comfortable with her back to the basket creating contact. She is averaging a light 6 points per game as she’s done well finding her teammates this season and taking less of a scoring role. However, Nernberger has proven she can attack effectively and put up numbers. In a close game against Greenwood, Nernberger played incredible defense against multiple players and scored 8 points for her team.
Alyssa Wirth | Altoona | 6’4 Freshman
Wirth is a player to keep eyes on as the ceiling is so incredibly high. The freshman who already holds an offer from University of St. Thomas has shown glimpses of how elite she will be in the years to come. She is averaging 10 points per game for Altoona. In a game against Unity, Wirth finished with 14 points. She is an athletic forward that has the potential to put on a show against any team. She is an effective offensive player that knows she can score the ball. Wirth is a player to watch as well as she continues to improve her balance and become a key shot blocker for her team.
