CRC Round Robin:12/12 Pool B All Stars

In my first opportunity to watch some live basketball in a while I attended the week one of the CRC Round Robin event. There were two pools of four teams that played. Here are my 5 Pool B All Stars. [player_tooltip player_id="124863" first="Maya" last="Osborn"] is a 5'5 2022 Guard from Marshall and Heart of Illinois. Maya is a combo guard that can score the ball and is a great vocal leader for her team. During this event her shot was not as consistent as she would like it but that does not change her approach to communication and motivating her team. Maya has the ability to get really hot as she did in the last game where she went for 24 points. For the event she scored 32 points for an average of 10.6 per game. As Maya continues to develop her game she will need to focus on her point guard skills to go with the scoring abilities as at her height she will need to be able to play that role. [player_tooltip player_id="194097" first="Emily" last="White"] is a 5'11 2021 Wing from Sullivan and Sky Ice Elite. Emily is a long and athletic player that excels on the defensive end and in transition. She can guard multiple positions and slow down most anyone. Emily has a jump shot that can get hot but her half court offensive game is a work in progress. Emily has the potential to be very good off the bounce as she has the length that will allow her to finish in the lane. She had 29 points for the day which is an average of 9.6 per game. Marissa Russo is a 5'9 Forward from Tuscola. Marissa is an undersized 4/5 that uses toughness and energy to get herself into the right spots on the court to do damage. She has a nice mid range jumper and can finish around the rim. Marissa does a good job of rebounding on both ends of the floor because she fights for position and has a desire to get the ball. She scored 30 points for the day, which is an average of 10 per game. [player_tooltip player_id="138871" first="Kai" last="Engledow"] is a 5'8 2022 Forward from Marshall and Indiana Elite Havoc. Kai is a very strong and intelligent player that can be a huge weapon if the opposition leaves her open behind the arc. She does not fit the normal picture of a three point shooter so many teams that have not done their homework will think she is just a post player roaming around. Then, she will be blitz you with 6 three pointers, like she did Saturday and leave you wondering what happened. Because of her strength Kai has deep range with little or no effort. Kai is an under rated defender and strong rebounder too. She scored 27 points on the day, with 21 in one game, for an average of 9 per game. [player_tooltip player_id="123618" first="Brynn" last="Tabeling"] is a 5'4 2021 Point Guard from Tuscola and Example Sports. Brynn is a smooth left handed point guard that does a good job of making decisions on the floor. She does a good job of knowing when to push the ball and when to slow down and set up the offense. Despite being small Brynn can use her ball handling and quickness to get to the right spots on the floor. She sees the floor very well and uses screens to create space. Brynn does a good job of playing in the open court where she can make decisions on the move and get easy baskets. Her 3-point shot was not falling consistently on Saturday but certainly she has not had the amount of reps she usually would. For the day Brynn had 24 points for an average of 8 per game. Next to come is the all defensive team for the opening weekend of the CRC Round Robin event.
