Though it's still early in their careers, in this new recruiting era, prospects start to separate themselves around this time, and it becomes clearer who can hang at the next level. As they head into their first year as upperclassmen, the responsibilities will pick up. The development from year one to year two matters, and below are some players who have raised their stock and shown a strong leap in their individual development.

Bartelheim had an impressive sophomore season and was a key part of a strong team that reached the state tournament. The framework is there for her to continue developing into a strong prospect in this class. The athleticism immediately stands out, and when you combine that with her shot selection, you're dealing with a player who can get past defenders, go over them, and still maintain control. Even on the state stage, the efficiency didn't waver. Big fan of this kid.

Gamble has carved her own name this season and has put everyone on notice. She is coming into her stride, knowing when to use her length and when not to. Defensively, she can still be your paint blanket and cause hesitation for guards attacking the rim. Offensively, that's where I believe she has made a bigger leap, and confidence is the foundation of that. Besides having coaches who allow her to make mistakes, she's showing where she is comfortable.. mainly in the low post area, the open floor, but she also has the skill to stretch the court when needed.

Evanston finished this season as one of the toughest teams in their conference, and Bryant had her name all over that.
